To be fair (and I do agree with you, it’s not happening), there was a report that Jeanie thoughy about moving on from LeBron (and Kutch) at the trade deadline. So I wouldn’t say zero chance, maybe %2. Yeah, it’s a stupid idea to do so because we’d look bad, but clearly our FO IS stupid, so yeah, never know.

Trading Bron would be the final nail in the coffin for this franchise. You think players don't want to play with Bron? I bet no one would be signing here after the trade either. unless he comes out and says "im done here, trade me to Pluto", he's a Laker.
On the other hand, Jeanie is brain dead though...

If the unlikely scenario happens where we trade LeBron, it would kind of be fun to see if we could trade him to Boston for Jayson Tatum and a bunch of their draft picks.

The added advantage to that is it puts the Pelicans in a tight spot because if they still want to trade AD to Boston, they would essentially get Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hawyward lol.

If we knew Kawhi wanted to sign here, I'd try to see if we could trade Lebron to Washington for Beal. Move Lonzo somewhere for another lottery pick. Go to war with a starting five of 11th pick/Kuz/Ingram/Kawhi/Beal. Don't need a true pg with three guys who can bring the ball up the floor with Beal, Ingram and Kawhi. The ages all line up better as well. Lebron circus is gone and we have a contender for years.

We're not trading Lebron. Sorry, but that isn't happening. Not unless he straight out asks to do so and I don't see that. Right now he's our prime asset and is giving us relevance. He wanted to be here and even with the Magic resignation I think he's going to see this out just as we need to do. Let's find out who we can get here to play alongside him.

i think it's based on the theory that lebron is upset. if he wants out, we can facilitate that and not be in much worse position than we are now, tbh.

that said, i'd prefer we keep him and win soon.

Oh yeah, absolutely abeer3. I just don't put too much stock into reporters like McMenahin knowing what Lebron actually feels. Is Lebron bummed that Magic resigned? I'm sure. I would be too. It's disheartening. Could there be some possible doubting of the FO given that fact? Sure, isn't that a healthy skepticism? I'm just not buying the DRAMA that ESPN is cycling. They are always rooting for our demise while simultaneously using our name to sell their schtick. We all know that way too well to get sucked into it.

All of this is moot right now. Lebron is going to wait it out to see what we do to provide him with a winning team, just as he should. The FO better be busting their butts to give him just that and get back on a winning path, at least to get back into the playoffs again. They have all the pressure on them and we shall see what they can do. It's really time for them to deliver. If they don't, well then let the speculation commence.

some of that Mcmenahin may have been his own opinion but he has alot to lose by lying, his sole job here is to cover Lebron and that would entail being able to gain access to Lebron more often than not. What does he have to gain by making things up or lying? It can only lead to him losing connection to James.

Wow, as I replied in another thread, I never said McMenahin was lying. Healthy skepticism of a reporter who is dropping a so called "BOMB" when it comes to insight regarding what Lebron feels is just that. I'm saying I think it's speculative not necessarily factual and that it got hyped by ESPN because they want and in part depend on DRAMA. Did you see Vash's post from Lebron's instagram where he denies this headline while working out in the Lakers gym and laughs? Is Lebron lying?

We will see how this all plays out but I'm not buying into any of that hype unless James himself comes out and says he wants a trade. Could it happen down the line? Sure. I just don't believe he's thinking that way nor should he until we see how the Lakers FO handles this summer.

you trust Lebron? the guy who says he "likes" the youth but then goes on instagram asking "where's woj" during the AD trade fiasco knowing full well mgmt was looking to trade the entire team? I trust Lebron as I would trust Magics:Magicwow4:

I think that Lebron knows more about Lebron's feelings than McMenamin. Is that so far fetched? Again, I think the hype is just that. Until Lebron says he wants out I don't see him getting traded. And I truly don't think any of this matters much right now. If we strike out in the summer, that might be another story. I'll continue to be skeptical about all reports until we get through that hurdle.

the skepticism should be more on the fact that Jeanie can lead us over these "hurdles"

    ^^^Thx for sharing!

I still think the switch everything defense and Bron at small ball center is too gimmicky and too much for a vet like Bron to handle (which is why he takes some sets off).

Imagine adding AD and keeping McGee to that with Zo and Kawhi on the perimeter?

    All still cap feasible btw.
