Good for Luke. Congrats on getting away from Bron. That's one of the shortest durations of unemployment a head coach has had in awhile. I know the coaching here was his dream gig, but with the state we're in, I bet he couldn't get out of here quick enough.

Nah J...he wanted to stay. And I would like to enter into evidence "exhibit 398 of leaked material within the Lakers".

    Per McMenamin & Ohm:

What's interesting is someone mentioned if Luke would go after ex-Lakers. Zu and DLo are both RFAs and we know what Vlade did with RFA LaVine last summer.

However when it came to Bullyius, Vlade could have offered him a King's ransom cause they had a bunch of cap, but instead he saw red. Let's see if Luke makes him see a bag of green this summer.

And then we'll really know how bad the coaching staff was pushing our FO to keep the guys we let go....as "exhibit 187 of leaked material within the Lakers" had suggested.

Luke finally has a roster suitable for his preferred offensive sets. I think they'll be very very good

They won 26 and then 35 in those next two seasons. Am I a genius?

Goodbye, Luke. I think Walton will do reasonably well in Sacramento. They’ll probably win around 42 or so games and sneak into the playoffs.

I remember being so pumped with Magic, Luke, and Pelinka signing up. Bummer.

lol almost everybody felt the same way, until Maginka wasted our talent pool with nonsensical trades and FO moves

Yes. But it had to be sheer luck on Luke's part in all those situations because it's common knowledge around here that Luke sucks.

Well that was quick. Not sure if he’s an improvement to Joerger but hey maybe he’ll pull a DAR/Randle and perform well when they are off the Lakers.

I think that Sac team fits him well. He’s going to have fun with Fox and Bagley. Some shooters in Hield, BogBog and Bjelica. Reunited with Barnes. Giles is an interesting prospect. And theres that defensive big man in WCS.

It definitely seems more suited to Luke, less pressure for him as well.

Hield is going to light it up next season with Luke as coach. MIP coming.

Going to be tough to jump that far from 21 and 5, but it all depends upon what happens with some roster decisions. I wonder how much WCS is going to make. I'd pay him 10m a season.

I guess that's technically correct. It won't feel like it though.

I'm happy for Luke, always been one of my fav Lakers having met him and his dad at a Neil Young concert at the Greek right after being drafted.I fully expect him to do what Lopez and Russell did after being run out of town, be in the playoffs.

Luke's rotation were horrid. He has an equal fault in why he isn't a Laker. If his coaching consists of having everything shoot 3's, well, not much coaching there in my book.

if the kings make the playoffs next season it's not going to be because of luke

he's the right coach for the roster they have but he's not the missing piece to their playoff hopes

Which concert ..... Greendale? Thought I felt a tremor in the Lakers force that night over and above the quirky stage and album concept but couldn't quite place it.

I hate high P&R with 3 guys standing on perimeter waiting. LeBron ball. Have a hunch was not Luke's choice to run so much coming from Triangle / Popovich > Kerr motion offense systems. Like he started to spoon feed all our young players when he first got here. What you'll see next year with Queens.

Yep, Greendale, Met them during intermission while getting a beer, talked little about basketball alot about how great the show was and how we were looking forward to him coming out to do his catalog of older songs. Both are very down to earth cool cats. Later that week ran into Bill and his wife at the Santa Barbara Bowl for the same show, they were right behind us, Bill gets quite animated.

He's not the reason the Lakers missed the playoffs this year either.
