that would be the ideal situation this summer, imo. yeah, lonzo makes a ton of sense in phx. enough that giving up a non-#1 overall pick should be under consideration. he might be the thing that could drag them out of the cellar. provided he can stay on the floor there.
I don't know Morant, honestly. I do know that he has a USG of 33.3% in college, and Booker has a USG of 32.9%. Something really has to give, and it means not getting the most from one of those two guys. Or, you could pair him with a player that Lakers fans think they have - an elite defender who doesn't need the ball much, definitely doesn't need to shoot much, to take over games. Should be a no-brainer. Right?
4yrs of rookie contract, no off court distraction so far to a guy with 2yrs left on rookie deal who hasnt manage to play more than 50g a season for his 1st 2 season, simple decision to me.

I'm high on Lonzo, but if Lonzo nets us the #4 pick or so in order to grease the wheels with the Pelicans, I'm certainly higher on AD than I am on Lonzo.
Hey now you are flip flopping a little. Seemed that way ^^^ at the start of this season but then mid season you were talking like you were into the "player" that he was .... just didn't like the circus with the old man, like all of us. Now you're back to never bought into his hype as a player?
the hype as in transcedent star, franchise savior, etc....aka the hyperbole per your gif lol...yes he is an important piece to a team but a "role" player, a high lvl one but a role player none the less...teams picking 1-5, maybe even 1-10 think theyre drafting the next star for their team, we do it here all the time over last 6yrs
And we will have been right on a number of them if we or had we keep / kept them long enough. Including Zo IMO. But the old man just complicates everything.
The Suns have their next stars in Booker and Ayton (at least I'm sure they think they do). Lonzo is like a Draymond Green type player. He doesn't play the same position as Draymond, but with all the little things he does, he's perfect to put along side a star guard and star big. (FYI, I'm not actually sold on Booker or Ayton being superstars on a winning team, but if your Phoenix, you have to sell that.) My point is if they drop to #4, they aren't likely to get a franchise changing player. So why not get a player that compliments the young stars you do have perfectly. I would not trade Lonzo for #4 pick in a vacuum. I think he's more valuable than anyone in the draft not named Zion, Barrett or Morant. But as part of the bigger picture in a deal that gets us AD, I'd do it.
not saying i wouldnt do it...just dont think pho or many other team find zo that appealing with all the side stuff
