    of course, but its just interesting looking back on just why luke was seen as a good hire?

    because he was young and could better relate to the kids? that's all i can come up with. hiring him based on what he did with the warriors is laughable

    A combination of his coaching of the warriors to 30-1 and high regard from his peers as an assistant.

    Hindsight is a great thing, but people were happy at the time and it’s easy to say now sitting here it was stupid, but I doubt many people said it at the time.

    Right. He’s quit on the team and the team has quit on him. We’re just dragging this out at this point.

    And PR? Just turn on any radio show. We’re already getting slaughtered. This is a business. Open up the checkbooks and a good coach and staff will come.

    I think it's obvious he will finish the season and then be fired. Makes no sense bringing in a new coach in this situation, right?

    many thought he needed more experience for sure. I believe he'll be a great coach one day, but he needed more experience as an assistant. Starting with GS and a mature, experienced, championship level roster wasn't a good basis for reality the rest of your career. Feelz like he tried to duplicate stuff he learned there over here, but without the horses. Seemz like no attempt to adjust to his personnel, but instead trying to fit them into his box no matter what. didn't work and now he loses his job.

    Live and learn, but it still sucks. Luke now has no more leash because Lebron is here and we need results now.

    I think the main reason to bring Luke is because he was far and away the most popular choice among Laker fans.

    He was modern, he was young, he was on the best team in the world, he was a former Laker and he embraced the role.

    Most importantly Scott had such a terrible relationship with the media and the players that Luke was an obvious choice. Great media relations and he was a players coach who was supposed to be a great choice for our young core. He hasn't thrown them under the bus like Scott did every day.

    Most people here complaining about Luke used to be a happy camper when he was signed.

    I still think Luke has abilities that work well for a head coach. He might not be a great XO guys but he is a solid coach overall. Maybe not for a team as disfunctional as ours.

    Look at Carlisle. His reputation is that he is a great coach, yet Dallas sucks all the time. Dallas fans hate him too.

    Get used to it. Nowadays coaches wear off quickly and become a source of frustration for every fan base.

    The grass is always greener elsewhere. If you hate him, then wait who replaces him. Maybe you love him again lol.

    this team is much easier to coach without Lebron on it tbh. No matter what you want to run, Lebron is going to take over control of the ball, and poof, there goes your offense, which affects your defense.

    When your teammates are fed up with it, nothing works. I actually think half of this is Lebron, and half is Walton refusing to adapt. (Or simply being unable to)
    I trade Lebron in sign and trade with Toronto for Kawhi, and go after others. Lebron was never a fit here. Let him live in CAnada while filming in CA. Let ur agent deal with that lol

    Well, someone has to take the fall at the end of the day and the coach is always the easiest to choose. If we were going to actually distribute out blame in the form of a pie chart, I would say he's sitting at 20%.

    I would put him at 15%, FO (including Jeanie Buss) at 30%, injuries/bad luck at 25%, and 10% vets underperforming (Rondo, Chandler, McGee, Lance)

    luke is not a good x n o coach but im going with the sentiment that some used prior, Magic didnt do him any favors with the roster construction....that corny a** "cant out goldenstate" bs is coming back to haunt us in a big way

    Luke - He isn't ready to be a head coach. I think people are jumping the gun on him being a head coach by a couple years. I want him to take some lumps and bounce back.

    Brooks - I was more than happy when he signed with Was. He's good with young players but man other than that there is nothing to be looking forward to with him.

    Jackson - Mehhh average signing
    Fisher - Hell no
    Rambis - Hell no (No Phil people l, another reason I don't like Walton)
    Messina - I don't think he leaves Pop that's a good replacement gig for him.

    I'd be happy with a no namer assistant coach as well, but that takes extremely good coach scouting, something that we have none of.”

    Luke I never liked you but I tried to give you a chance....

    And you’ve shown no growth since you’ve been here...

    While this is true, it's not a bad thing when LeBron takes over... This recipe has led to 8 finals appearances in a row...

    This should NOT be seen as a negative. That's who we signed and what we signed him for.

    We didn't sign LeBron to shoot 3s from the corner.

    The problem is that we don't have pieces that work best with LeBrons formula.

    Another thing is had we struck out AGAIN, we would be the official laughing stock of the NBA. LeBron, if nothing, brought back some attention that we might not be DEAD IN THE WATER, which was the consensus belief.

    I'd rather suck with LeBron than suck without LeBron. At least you can say we are one piece closer to contention. Yes, we are 8 pieces away but that's another story.

    I know everyone is mad at him for obvious reasons and that's OK. I'd still rather have him than nothing.

    see, i was enamored by the possibility that he as a young coach and former player could help bring in some FA's and relate better to the kids. guess we all looked the other way on his actual coaching abilities. and lol @ the part about needing defensive assistants in there. still no progress on that front

    i'm not so sure luke can one day become a successful coach. 3 seasons here and he's still clueless when it comes to his rotations. he wasn't put in an ideal situation as a rookie HC coaching a bunch of kids but you'd think he would have made some progress over the years
