Meanwhile the Nets Jules'd DLo by not giving him an extension this year electing to maximize their cap space this coming summer, while the Pels put Jules on the block and couldn't get a future 1st (or 4) for him. Hey, but we mismanaged that situation. With fans like ours, who needs haters.
That...or just calling s*** like it is...and in the process calling out the hypocrisy for the crazy it is... Dumped DLo to get off Mozzies 3 yrs 48m and got the Kuz 1st round pick back That same team didn't value DLo enough and is chasing the max player cap plan we did last summer. They can renounce his restricted status nearly clearing 23m in his cap hold this summer and get close to 2 max players. Y'all clown cap space, while other big market teams are following suit: literally both LA and NY teams. It's what the dubs did to get enough cap for KD dumping Bogut and 7th overall pick Barnes to do so. Knicks dumped a goddamn unicorn to get off 2yrs 60m and both Hardaway and Lee are infinitely useful than Moz. The got future 1st round picks out of that won't likely convey till 2023. cLips dumped am all-star Blake and got a heavily protected 2019 1st and Tobias out of it and then flipped Tobias for a likely low 2020 Philly 1st and a 2021 unprotected Miami 1st (hoping an ultra competitive Riles remains the course for the next 2 seasons. We're set up for Bron/AD and possibly Simmons down the line, but y'all cry foul for DLo/Jules while other teams are positioning themselves to land KD, Ky, Kawhi, Boogie Butler. Management can do wrong, but y'all the ones with the f***ed up opinions. You want to berate our FO...then stay consistent with it. Clownin our FO while y'all applaud other FOs for doing the same goddamn thing. As for developing/mismanaging our youth, Luke gets some blame, but they shoulda showed out with Bron out. It's time for the kiddies to put up or shut up.
hmmm...did they already renounce his rights? or are they going to pursue both angles simultaneously with an allstar RFA as a backup plan? because i like that plan. that wasn't our plan. they dumped them AFTER kd agreed. again, they could have pivoted and retained those assets had kd not gone there. again, an option we have foregone time and again. too worried we couldn't dump players if the big fish agreed, when other teams (like gs) have done so with multiple bidders. zinger had demanded out (twice) and torn an acl. and i'm still not sure it was a good idea. in fact, one of ny or la is going to look mighty stupid come july. everyone thought griffin's extension on that team was insane when he signed it. that's not trading a guy on his rookie deal who became an allstar within 18 months. we'll see about AD. NO could very easily be hiring danny ainge's f***ing assistant this summer and giftwrapping AD there, ultra check-mate style. or we'll just get toronto/okc-ed again. that's the thing about the (wildly unimaginative) cap space plans: four other teams have the same plan and the same targets, and all of those teams are counting on unlikely events (max FAs leaving their current squads). it's a zero sum game. i haven't applauded the knicks, who have the same d****** plan as ours--or worse, because dolan owns them. i have applauded bkn (hire a great coach, scout for overlooked talent, wait out bad contracts instead of shedding assets to drop them) and the clips (hire the best front office mind in the business, cut losses on aging vets before their deals cripple you, somehow parlay lebron's largesse into making you a relevant FA destination after years of being a laughing stock). to this latter point--nobody wanted to be the team that blew cap on a max to tobias harris this summer. so they moved him for a couple firsts before they had to watch him walk for nada. this after they pumped his value by making him the man on a fringe playoff team. it's like, the opposite of what we did with randle, where we tanked his value, forcing us to hold onto him and ultimately let him walk for nothing.
looking at nyk return for zingis, magic got hosed on that dlo trade, nyk got off way more money than mozgov and got 2 picks to our 1 and 1 of them is unprotected
Did we make Jules restricted by offering a QO? Did we move pieces at the deadline (Nance/JC) to have his caphold on the books to match any offer, while still opening up enough cap to offer max guys 30m each on a slight pay cut? Did we renounce Jules to allow him to move on even though he claimed his role would be diminished (same role/minutes in NO) and he longed for more of a commitment (took less money on a de facto 1yr deal in NO)? Are the Nets going to possibly deal with the same shenanigans with DLo this summer that we dealt with last summer with that same Mintz representation? Bogut was an expiring deal. Moz had 3 years and nearly 50m remaining. Knicks had 2 years and nearly 60m with HardawayJr and Lee. Has gotten off contracts like Deng, Parsons, Noah, Baze, Knight, Anderson been easy for other teams? Has the way IT been handled in Boston been brought up? You think the way the cLips and Knicks did Allstars Blake and Zinger will be looked at as favorable? But y'all stay bawl'n on our FO while applaud'n the same damn thing by other FOs.
similar value imo....zingis is a better player but hes injured with an injury that could severly effect his career long term....we traded dlo at his lowest value due to the young incident n you sure do seem to think magic is god like exec or simething in that lvl, exec like west is playing chess 4-5 moves ahead, magic takes baits (ad) like a bass that hasnt eaten for months lol
just cuase we praise other execs dont mean magic didnt do work, jc/nance was good move, dlo move was not....look at what nets gave up to dump mozgov compared to magic
Nets gave up cap space to dump Moz and then boughout Dwight who double dipped in Washington. Meanwhile we gained 2 max slots that allowed us to take on Kawhi or Paula along with Bron. It didn't work out, but look at it this way...giving Kcp essentially 2yrs 30m led to AD/Klutch favoring us at the very least in 2020, if not sooner.
2nd max or dlo trade was a failure....thats my take, of course youre entitled to you own opinions...n kcp 2nd deal was stupid, i dont mind bringing him back but he didnt n hasnt earned that $ this yr n we didnt need to overpay since james was already signed up to that pt. n pls dont say maginka was forced to do it as favor since that $ n rondo $ was for that planned paula signing, so they did have a choice with kcp
Yeah. Both are higher volume shooters who have one ASG under their belts. Porzingis is less than a year older and more injured.
I'm trying real hard not to be disrespectful, but jeezus chriss you guys... This essentially is a debate of DLo/Jules/Nance/JC/LouWill vs Bron/Kuz/Hart/AD/#TeamKlutchRoster now and for the foreseeable future. One is clearly the obvious choice, cause we already saw roughly 3yrs of the former option and it hasn't led to s***! Also Zinger vs DLo...man, I'm just not going to go into deep commentary cause I respect some y'all even if you have gone temporarily insane. Let's just say I prefer colorful unicorn braids to bawlblue iced over veins. Btw, Zinger and DLo have injury issues/concerns but only one of them has lengf as a legit "talent". Streaky scoring combo guards are a dime a dozen. While scoring stretch frontline players are a dirk a dozen. Btww, creating opportunity to strike is part of the game. Unloading Moz may have been an option later....but then again, maybe not. DLo's first season in BK was injury plagued...is that package available 1yr later or does BK suddenly have DVT aka icecold feet with a change of heart? Anyways, back to Zo...
