Windhorst officially off Lebron’s payroll after this. It’s been suspected that he got the boot, but this confirms it.

    TRASH article.

Clippers have better assets? Draft picks!!!
Lakers young players have no value!
    Windhorst up in his feelings

Feel like this was one of the least offensive of late, actually. Basically suggests making some deals to set stage for a Davis swap, which makes sense--they don't like our players, but some other teams do, and those teams might have what NO wants. In fact, this is one of the only espn pieces that doesn't just gush about Boston and ny's assets.

Pelicans arent trading him to the Lakers. When is this going to sink in?

We're going to sneak into the playoffs - barely, probably make some noise if healthy, and then we will add a max FA this Summer without giving up anything

    and then....

we will have very little motivation to trade for him or give up very much. We're actually in really good shape, and this is just a distraction from the main plan. He's an all time leader in PER, so there is no doubt he's a great player, but he's also not THAT alpha. He'd love to take second fiddle to an aging Lebron which is interesting, but you don't give up the entire farm for him, have two semi-fragile stars, and nothing but fillers. That's crazy. (Yes, might be a 3rd too)

Our starting lineup was +13 on the Sixers while in the game, but we lost by over 30. You have to have depth, but ESPECIALLY with an aging high mileage star.

I'm all for getting another max this summer and forgetting Davis. I just think getting Davis via trade was a shot you had to take.

I just don't know who that max could be. At this point, Kyrie seems like the most likely candidate. Klay isn't leaving GS because I think Durant IS leaving to the Knicks. Kawhi to the Clippers (for reasons I can't fathom) seems to be a done deal. Boogie wasn't worth the max before the achilles tear. Kemba? Are we really going to take our shot with Kemba and 35 year old Lebron with our kids? Obviously things can change.

I still think the endgame is 3stars this summer and beyond:
    1)max player
2)use remaining cap to absorb AD via trade with kiddies

Look at the free agent list past KD:
    Ky (player option)
    Kawhi (player option)
    Butler (player option)

All these dudes can go the Cp3 route and get traded by opting in with their bird rights in tow

    OR

Since they're all 8 year players (including Klay), they all sign a 1+1 this summer, shaving a bit off the top (had the AD trade happened at the deadline) and then they opt out in the summer of 2020 and sign the 35%max as a 10 year player.

Even if AD doesn't come till 2020, expect whatever free agent we get this summer to sign a 1+1 deal and we'll be able to work in AD's max accordingly.

That's my guess as to why the league wanted to collude against the #LAD deal at the deadline (other than the obvious = trading a 25 yr old generational talent to pair with Bron).

What's your dream scenario @vasashi17 I want to know what realistically can happen if all the dominos fall our way yet it's still a dream lol. ? Do you still keep some of the kiddies as well?

i think it's kyrie or bust in terms of the sure max guys, and this is partly because irving's good and partly because it blows up some rivals' plans. leonard's staying or going to the clips. klay's staying. kd's staying or going to the knicks. everyone else is non-max.

i could see the lakers signing boogie to a one-year max (team option on second year) if they strike out on kyrie, though.

my preference would be to break up the 38 million on 2-3 young, high quality rotation players and just staying ready in case AD shakes loose in 2020. if you sign wisely, salary can be moved to make room. it's only if you mozdeng that you're screwed. teams will always take on players on reasonable deals.

    My dream scenario:

    1)Bron 37.4
    2)Kawhi: 32.7
    3)Zo: 8.7
    4)BI: 7.3
    DeadDeng: 5
    5)Moe: 2.1
    6)Kuz: 2
    7)Hart: 1.9
    8)Bonga: 1.4
    IRC4: 3.6
    = 7m in cap space

Need only 15m in outgoing salary to go get AD. So that means we can either keep Zo or BI and sell the entire farm plus multiple draft picks for AD and it would be a legal trade. Also if we trade just BI & Zo's aggregated 16m with multiple picks, we can keep all the other kiddies.

That's the dream...but even if both Zo and BI are outbound or all our kiddies are gone for that matter, Bron/AD/Kawhi tho!

At 4 year max, yes. At lower money or fewer years, I'm listening. 2 years max isn't crazy, but some small market will go full max for him, so it's moot.

For the right price he’d be very good. He’s been spotty the past couple seasons but he finally took the step to play at a high level consistently this season. Its just no one pays attention to Orlando.

That’d be very interesting though they have Allen there that they really like. I think one of the bad team that misses out on a top pick or free agent will five him all the money.

Dallas. Don't rule out Orlando keeping him, either--bamba's a major project.

Davis was 1-9. At least he's trying to lower his value for us this summer. :Magic2:
