I seriously do not think we will ever see another Kobe in the NBA. The only player right now in sports that is Kobe is Tom Brady.

Dammit I knew there was one of these on your site I was forgetting yet again, but I didn’t do a deep enough dig and only got as far as the Lance Stephenson ones. Oh and LeBron something something, coach killer, roster overhauler etc etc.

I never liked Lebron, but I thought signing him was a necessary evil. Now? I'm starting to actually believe signing him was a mistake. Last season, we were getting better and everyone loved playing with each other. This season? The joy has been sapped out of this franchise. I honestly don't know why a superstar would want to come here. I actually am starting to understand PG-13's decision. This isn't fun. I'd rather be rooting for last year's team with Randle still in tow. Sure, we'd probably have about 5-6 less wins, but at least I wouldn't feel like I'm rooting for prisoners on a work release.

Mistakes started with mixing Kobe's farewell tour with the youth movement. Then signing Mozgov and Deng instead of trading for bad contracts and acquiring assets along with it. Then yes, we should have committed to the youth movement more instead of trading Russell for cap space. When you bring in a player with a win-now mentality, you can't develop young guys at the same time. Minnesota had this issue with Butler, and Boston now with Irving. The only time I've really seen a young guy develop in that setting is Kobe, and we all know he was ready to rise to any challenge.

It wasn't a bad move signing LeBron. But now we need to trade the kids for veterans who know they are role players. And start building a proper team around him.

Come on y'all, let's not act like Kobe didn't alienate himself when we weren't winning and without a second running mate. This was to be expected, this team was not ready to make any sort of run this year, and this whole AD trade debacle has put everyone on edge.

We were doing very well before the injuries, much like we did with Kobe before Bynum went down, then the trade for Pau happened...

Let's just be grateful to even be in this position. I highly doubt we would even be at .500 without Lebron, let alone, we'd be screaming at Magic and Rob for not being able to secure ANY star at all.

    Patience.

I get the patience part but feels like we're F"ing over everyone on the team just to appease James. We all thought he wouldn't be like he was before since he's given us 4yrs but its same old s***, just different location. I get it its AD but its not like AD has had much success himself and 2ndly (me being pessimist) I really dont think Pelicans was ever going to negotiate with us on good faith, no one will when it comes to dealing stars to super-stars to us, its never gona change

I’m not sure I agree with this. We moved the ball so much better when he wasn’t playing, and I think that the growth would have been more consistent across the whole year, and that we actually might be a .500 team without him.

We're not a .500 without him - our talent isn't great, Luke can't develop players, his staff sucks, etc.

I get not liking the guy - trust me, I do, but if he's healthy the entire season, we're in the PO picture.

Unfortunately, our season hasn't gone the way we had hoped...

Remember Pau NEVER won a playoff game with the Grizzlies before joining the Lakers. When superstars get together, they have a little more motivation to push each other to the next level. Like a pick up game, you just have a little more pep in your step when you know you have a better team with you, a little more confidence.

Ever since the Pau trade, which I still think wasn't all that bad with the way Marc turned out, and the failed CP3 trade, small market teams have it out for us now thinking that we're going to fleece them when we've probably have had the best overall package every time. They just don't want to see us succeed, but are fine with KD and Boogie walking over to Golden State...

It's just the state of the NBA now, it sucks, but we just gotta let Magic and Rob grind it out.

If everyone was healthy, I think we are a .500 team without Lebron. With him and healthy, we're top 4 in the conference.

Unfortunately, we weren't healthy, and Lebron is at the stage of his career where you should not expect more than 50-60 games. Might as well blow this ship up if this is as good as it gets. If Luke can't develop players, but can coach vets that know how to play, let's see what he can do with vets after that horrific Pelicans trade.

.500 with this roster or last years? I'm not concerned about his health yet. And the Pelicans trade? Not going to happen.

Remember when got Lebron this summer and people were sayings things like, Bron won’t want to play GM, he wants to keep the young players so he can be fresh for the playoffs, he’s an Ironman who doesn’t get hurt, we brought him in to win in the playoffs, all his teammates love playing with him...and here we are approaching All star break and we will be lucky to even make the playoffs.

Remember when Aldridge and Melo laughed at us and stormy give us the time of day in free agency and now we brought in the best free agent last summer and have AD actively trying to get traded to us even though he's not a free agent for another 18 months.

Come'n Cook...don't let sirron take you down that path.

Y'all have worthy arguments but y'all act like we werent a trash team before. 5 years of zero contention and forcing Kob into early retirement. Now we have a 25 year old beast wanting to be handed the keys to the kingdom.

Btw Allstar selections tomorrow will play out in this manner:

If it happens and we all pray it does. But damn if this all goes south because of maybe elite guys don't want to super team with LeBron any more and we don't have AD by the end of basketball draft, FA, etc in 2020 then we may be royally f*****. The worst that could happen actually could. Yikes.

Unless the kids all got healthy quick and just start blowing up the end of this season. But now that's tough because the esprit de corp has been blown all to hell which means a lot for the "team first" way Luke has been doing a good job of selling since he's been here, at least.
