I'm just happy we finally drew the line. Our offer is by far more than enough, and will be better than any offer they get in the summer. It was silly for us to keep bidding against ourselves at this point.

Lots of truth in it actually but whether it works here for a ring or two remains to be seen especially if it doesn't and all these young guys become as good as many of us feel they will.... in other uniforms. See DLO.

This tells me that Pelicans do intend on trading AD...may not be to us...could be to a last minute bidder

Perfect. A spite trade where what they get coming back from the team that knows he doesn't want to be there .... looks ludicrous compared to what the Lakers offered.

That won't necessarily be a bad thing. AD reiterates his desire to walk in the summer, we get to deal with someone else. Any other FO is better than the idiots in NOH.

IDK why but I smell OKC lurking...

They could offer up Steven Adams and picks and I bet the Pelicans bite on it out of spite...

You think the Pelicans would wreck the league to spite us? I don’t think they’d go that far. Westbrook, PG, and Davis? The West would immediately be a 3 team league again, if not the entire NBA.

But the NBA is FINE with that, it's a small-market team benefitting from it after all...

FInal offer rejected by Pelicans. All of our players except Lebron, all of our picks into perpetuity, the Laker girls and Kobe Bryant frozen in carbonite and mounted in the Pelicans practice facility for players to dunk on in practice.

What is NO hoping for from Ainge? Tatum, Brown, Rozier and 4 firsts?

What hurts the Warriors more, a Laker team with AD and a severely depleted core and cap or Klay Thompson on the Lakers which in turn increases the likelihood of KD jumping ship to the Knicks as we all know he won't stay if the odds are not stacked wildly in his favor? We still have a chance to trade for AD anyways in the summer if we so choose. Or we could sign another FA like Klay and money-manage again doing 1 year contracts in order to clear the books again in 2020 by S&Ts with our youth or even getting picks for them or maybe they blossom and we want to keep a few and do deals with the others. Plus there is an opportunity to really really screw the C bags if AD and Kyrie play.

Kyrie declares definitively in the summer before 7/1 that he won't resign with the Bags.

Paul/AD declare AD will under no circumstances, resign anywhere but with the Lakers in 2020.

What can Ainge do then? At this point he'll realize he's been played and if he trades for AD the damage will be far worse when 2020 comes and AD bolts. Honestly, this is the scenario I hope for. This is the scenario that has Red Auerbach rolling in the grave and makes every living C Bag cringe.

Dumb a**es are now on LeBron's list.

But seriously a pissed off AD, Magic Johnson and Klutch agency not going to go well for Ainge.
