Silly sexbot...Isn't it obvious?!? You would need a "banana". And I'm not talking about the one you have in your front socket.

Melo is pulling for the AD trade more than any other non-Laker fan. Only a sell-the-farm deal would clear enough roster space for Bron to get him here. Hopefully Bron, Rondo, and Luke can get something out of him on his farewell Bro(n)'mance half season farewell tour.

Hou has been able to salvage the likes of Austin Rivers, some guy name Clark, and now Faried....but yet they didn't find it necessary to waste any more time trying to get Melo to work out for them. and here we are still thinking we can some how get this guy to be useful here?

he may be a cheap vet that has potential for a few shining moments in the playoffs

If we end up with open roster spots, there won't be any harm in signing him. I doubt he'd be guaranteed any sort of role. He plays the same position as Lebron, or would play behind AD. They are CLEARLY better than him, so a clearly defined role would probably be easy to come up with.

he had a clear defined role with Hou, to be the offensive spark plug off the bench...instead he showed them his worse fg% and 3pt % lol

He also went and played for a coach who hated him (mistake by Melo) and who some believe sabotaged him and put him in situations to fail. Not saying I buy that, but if Melo even considered that and it was in his head, that will affect his play. I'm not for or against the signing. I think he has more than he showed in Houston, not much but a little. He would have to be surrounded by solid defense -- McGee or Chander, Hart, and Rondo to cover for his liabilities. We have guys who can play his role, so it's not like he solves anything.

But Bron believes in him and wants him on the team. Sometimes it's more about what it does for Bron than what Melo can do for us on the court. Gotta keep the current face of the franchise happy. If a minimum signing can accommodate that, you do it.

We will be thin if the trade happens. Melo comes cheap and would make LeBron happy. I can live with it.

how does MDA sabotage Melo? its not like Hou was passing him the ball with a few secs left forcing him into bad shots for that terrible fg%.....I'm not gona say one way or another but its comical to think this guy can "help,"....more like more harm then help, as bad as Lance can be I'd play Lance 10x out of 10 over MarsMelo

Melo sucks. Simple as that. He is an out of shape fat pig. I don't know what's there to think about...

    Seriously.

    D.O.N.E.

Thunder didn't get it, Houston didn't get it. We don't have to make it three in a row I think.

Melo is absolutely coming here if we trade for AD. The only thing stopping us from doing it right now is because we don’t have room.

yep...Melo is pretty much guaranteed to sign here if the AD trade goes down as we'll likely have to deal anywhere from 3-6 players for that deal to go down.

I'm no fan of Melo, but I think the question is, if the trade goes down, what vets are available mid-season that fits salary-wise and are any better? Buy out market maybe?

Melo will almost be a must simply due to the fact that we will need bodies. This trade could very well leave us with 10 players, 13 if you count Bonga, Caruso and John Williams (the center, not the composer). Melo, while not good, is still better than most of the unsigned free agents hoping for a job.

^^ Best names I can come up with are:
G: Afflalo, Swaggy, Joe Johnson, Brandon Rush, Meeks, Jack. MCW, Lawson
    F: Melo, Tarik Black,
    C: Speights, Asik

    Pretty weak I know.

So what might the buy out market look like?
Zach Randolph, Demarre Carrol, Jamal Crawford, Robin Lopez, Dedmon, Kanter, Jabari Parker, Tolliver, Burks
    Much more interesting options here.

Of course, JR may be available soon too ....
