Anthony Davis Discussion: Only Player On Both All NBA + All Def

The reason you accumulate assets is so you can make moves like this and be a player. We had nothing legit to offer in years past, and actually have something to offer now.
Still sad to see home grown talent have to go, but it's not often you can trade them for a biological anomaly like like AD with his eyebrows n stuff.

BSPN is saying that the package the C Bags can offer this summer trumps anything the Lakers or any other team can offer. First, would AD be happy going there? Second, I don't see this package of players are markedly better than the Lakers:

C Bags: Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward.

I'm not seeing it... BSPN just doesn't want AD to go to the Lakers.

I read that as well. All those writers suggest that New Orleans has all the leverage. Riiiiiiiiight.

 

i'm sure they're hung up on the picks. boston's got memphis's (top 8 protected this year, top 6 next year--so not THAT great, really), sac's (top-1 protected, projects at like 10 right now), and the clippers's (lotto protected for next two years, turns to 2nd after that--so not very good).

in other words, these picks aren't as awesome as everyone thinks, AND they all have to be made BEFORE they can offer davis due to kyrie irving's contract status. lakers need to ratched up the pressure with a huge offer now.

 

why would you want him to play out the season? can't be good for the locker room or the franchise in general. we've seen this movie. i think he's gone; just matter of whether some wildcard comes in to ruin christmas again (as was the case with PG and KL).

Anything not bolted to the floors, you ship to NO. If they want Kuz, BI, Ball, Hart, Zu, Wagner, Svi, Bonga, and any collection of draft picks they want for the next 3 years back up the U-Haul.

Is that too much? Yes. We are going to have to overpay. This window was created just for us. They're going to want us to overpay in order to keep Boston out of the conversation and to prevent them from waiting until this summer. We have 10 days. I still think we will pay less today than we would in a bidding war with Boston. The only way AD can further help us is by telling NO that he will not sign an extension with Boston.

He's done what he's needed to do thus far to get him here: 1) sign with Bron's boys. 2) Ask for a trade. 3) Give us a head start in negotiations.

You give up whatever they want from us. If the reports of Kuz, Ball, Zu, and 1st are true; that's a bargain. I'd much rather swap out Ingram with Kuz, but it's not worth holding up a deal over. I would probably still move on from Ingram in a 3 team or separate deal because he doesn't fit with Bron.

We still have a contending roster even if we give up half the team. Can we beat GS? Not this year. Can we beat anyone else out there? If healthy. We have vets who are playoff tested and can easily be players on the buyout market.

We can't afford not to give up the farm for AD. We have tried the wait until they're a FA approach and that isn't working out too well for us. We missed out on PG13 and doesn't sound like Kawhi has any interest in joining Bron. Pay what it cost to get a guy who personality wise seems to be a much better fit with Bron. We have a short contention window. Bron is coming off the worst injury of his career. Is father time finally knocking on the door? Maybe. Not everyone wants to play with Bron. BUT a lot more guys would be down to play in LA with AD and Bron and in 3 years, they're free to run with AD who will be smack dab in the middle of his prime. You get THAT 3rd guy in the summer, then you round out the roster with eager vets who want to come aboard.

Time for Magic to show what he's worth.

No wonder Zubac is getting alot of run lately. I'm all in on AD. No looking back.

Pretty sure it's Zu, Kuz, Hart + BI or Zo. I don't think all 4 of our younging's are going (not counting Zu as the 4), but don't mind it one bit of all 4 of our youngins' go.

This is AD we are talking about here.
