Over his last 5 games, Harden has averaged 17 threes a game along with 16 FTs a game...averaging 48 ppg along with 10 and 8 in 38.6 mpg.

unprecedented. It is unprecedented that somebody takes so many bombs from the 3 and it is incredible how you can average 16 FTs WHILE shooting so many threes...

incredible. Harden is great at drawing fouls. But he is also incentivised by getting every doubtful call blown in his favor.

Some historic numbers, good or bad.

it's both, i guess? dantoni's just taken the old rudy three philosophy and juiced it to the max with harden.

the problem is that it's unwatchable basketball, and it's still not proven to get you wins at the highest level. if we start seeing lines like last night's in the playoffs, then i guess it really is over, though. he went 5-19 from three and scored 58. how does that happen? with 23 FTAs. amazing. terrible. amazingly terrible.

Call me bitter but when Kobe was scoring like this, people nitpicked every aspect of his historic performances. Ironically last night I saw people praising Harden's ZERO assists through 115 points scored saying "He did it all by himself" when Kobe had zero assists they called him everything under the sun to lesson his accomplishments.

i think he basically is. they can't use him any more than they are. the problem is that scoring 70 or 80 means making A LOT of shots from the field, as even the refs will get disgusted with themselves after 30 FTAs. harden has very few really big scoring games not accompanied by eye-popping ft numbers. his shooting efficiencies from the field should limit huge scoring games. at least historically, they have.

yeah, i'd be lying if i said my harden antipathy was totally unrelated to my kobe fandom. it sucks to see someone significantly less talented basically do the same thing worse but with better individual results and more love from the press.

people crapped all over kobe's rudy t team, but that's basically what harden's doing right now, just with a gazillion FTAs heaped upon him, a good chunk of which are ill-begotten.

if last night happened to kobe, all we'd be hearing about is that his team lost and nobody else was involved.

Kobe had zero assists. Harden scored 115 points that were not assisted by others. Different.

Btw Houston took 70 threes last game. SEVENTY. Can't believe that. 7-0.

They aren’t deep enough for CP3/Gordon to take enough minutes to matter. I guess it’s better to burn out than fade away.

Ooh, I don’t like this at all. It’s a good thing GS got Cousins back tonight, they need to continue to be able to stop Houston for as long as CP3 is able bodied and as long Harden has a 2nd star to help him.

On the Harden- Kobe debate , Kobe was posting great numbers in his 17th season in a MDA system .

Imagine prime Kobe in today's NBA ....

yeah, i think we're about to see how unremarkable capela really is. ironically, faried can help almost no other nba team right now.

Faried better work on his pivot foot. All he's doing to do is grab a rebound, turn, and give it to Harden. It's a great add for Houston.

He played well in his two games of heavy minutes for Brooklyn. I think it's hard to know where he is right now in terms of abilities.

Luka's ridiculous, and he's probably a better player than Young in the end, but Trae's only 20, so he has plenty of time. 16 and 7 as a scrawny rookie bode well for him, I think. I'm not being an apologist; I think both will be good, but Luka is the better player, mind you.

Luka's already an all star caliber player, so the hawks will never regret that trade, but if young grows into one, Atlanta can feel ok about it. The other pick coming to them will probably be pretty meh.

    Rockets are unwatchable.

After watching them against us... It's always Harden at the top of the key doing his stupid stepback 3 or driving or passing for a corner 3 or a wing 3...

Just terrible to watch and not entertaining at all. Especially the step back 3...lol...possession after possession after possession... Awful

If you love video games with cheat codes, you'll love watching Haren. Otherwise, I have no idea why you'd watch that garbage.
