Our very own champ, fat Ty Lue, who is a proven championship coach lol. He checks a lot of boxes. A former Laker, won a title, Lebron likes him
Ty Lue actually ran SETS though in Cleveland. He's a better X's and O's coach than Luke by far. I unfortunately think Luke has to go...if we can get some combination of Lue/Thibs I probably go for it and have Luke demoted to Assistant if he wants to stay. JVG is another guy I'd look at...but I think it's been too long for him he will be rusty af
and that's exactly why russell and randle are doing so well on different teams compared to their time in LA this organization is showing its not capable of properly developing young talent and that's very bad
I mean, Julius didn't even know what an individual defense drill was while he was here. In 3+ years That seems odd. Unless it isn't.
I caught some highlights, and he has actually expanded his game, had a pretty good attitude, saying the right things, and looks like a semi-all star in the making. His stats trend just above where they have been in years past per 36, but he's making strides this year, and is close to 19 ppg now. Actually looks pretty solid. Hopefully he stays healthy and sees what he can do. It wasn't going to happen for him here, so I'm glad he's found a place to call home. EArly in the year we were questioning if he was the 3rd best guard on the team, and now it's very clear he's their best player. That's progress.
Right now Luke is a gun coach. No getting round it he is a gun coach. A gun coach needs to get fired.
yes he is. he'd had a few bad games here and there but he's no doubt their best player and has made significant strides this season compared to last who would've thought the nets would one day be a more competent organization than the lakers
What do you think folks? Is it do or die tonight for Luke? I can see the angry crowd with pitchforks and torches in hand if we lose to another 10 win team at home. Will he get the boot if we don't get the W?
In any kind of sane world, a win over the lowly Bulls wouldn't have any bearing on whether or not Luke keeps his job. But a loss could definitely pull him into deeper jeopardy.
I have no clue what Magic is really thinking. I'd imagine he has the same mood swings we do from day to day. Not an easy answer when there are limited options.
I'll say this. if the lakers lose tonite to the bulls. either Luke gets fired, or some serious movement needs to be made. I dont give a damn about any excuses, losing to the Knicks then the Cavs. 2 worst teams in the league. if the team loses to the bulls, that's the damn nail in the coffin
