Just an utter embarrassment to lose to both the Knicks and the Cavs at home. That's just not doing your job or sheer incompetence.

Jacking up 34 threes @ a 20% clip is some plan. Coached us to dead last in FT% in the NBA. Where's the brutal extended FT sessions in practice? Lose to Chicago and someone must be held accountable. Luke needs to feel this one in the threat-to-job department. Some of our losses were explainable for the caliber of teams we've played and guys out, sure, but you can't get the guys fired up enough to bounce back off a bad game and defend home court against the Cavs? And especially when a loss means out of the playoffs for now. This was supposed to be a time when guys were fired up to strut their stuff with Lebron out. Did Luke even tell them the consequences of a loss to CLE? Some media were calling this must-win in terms of just pride and competence. Apparently we have none @ the coach level. "I still believe in this group" Wrong answer. Do they believe in you? Get a product on court out of them or you are worthless.

I can't accept the team construction failure as an excuse for Lukes coaching failures.....you can still run plays to get easy baskets w/o shooters...when have we even ran a basic PnR? our team can't defend that play to save their life but they can't or wont run it much themselves. I guess part of that failure is cause Zo got no jump shot but still there's lot of teams that can run PnR that doesn't have a good shooting PG, i.e. Westbrook

I agree. I must tell you though: we both want Luke gone but his replacement might be worse.

The team, as constructed, blew out the Warriors. With Bron in the locker room.

Lost 2 to Orlando, lost to the Knicks and lost to the Cavs at home. No excuses. As constructed, we are better than them. Barely above 500.

    Luke has to go.

He'll go; but not until the summer. Just hope we don't hire Mark Jackson...

I respect Luke and I like what he said there, but, look... this is not good right now. You can't lose games against teams like Cleveland, especially at home. There is no excuse for that. Our guys are not doing what they should be doing. Even Lonzo is aware that there is no energy, they are not playing the right way, and when he gets asked why, he answers: "I don't know; I see that, but I don't know why".

    Someone has to know.

Did I just read that “I am comfortable if I get fired because I did it my way”

This sounds like something Byron Scott would say LOL

I think that Luke Walton knew that he was probably too young and inexperienced for this position, but he also felt like he could not pass it up.

He will probably end up being a very good NBA coach, but he needs more seasoning and experience to become that guy.

Like most fans, I’m a little tired of suffering through everybody else’s learning curves. Please take care of your learning curve elsewhere, and come to us when you are a finished product ready for prime time. K thanks bye

Any thoughts on Fred Hoiberg who was canned earlier this year by Chicago?

He will always be a players coach with the key defining word being....

    Players ASSISTANT coach, nothing more.

for every Kerr (a coach that didn't have alot of success as a HC early) there's 10 more of the clifford's, brown, fisher types. Luke as of right now looks more like a Fisher type then a Kerr type even if he gets a 2nd chance elsewhere IMO. Scott failed here but he did have decent success with his "system" with the Pelicans and Nets, he was just an unlikable person. Luke is likable but whatever system he's running to me is based on something that worked elsewhere with much more talent, he's not adjusting to what we have personnel wise, while its not his fault this team is devoid of useful talents he is not making the best of what he's got, thats a sign of a good coach.

I've been a staunch defender of Luke's for a long time, given the roster(s) he's been saddled with. But last night's loss was a turning point for me. You can't lose a game like that. You just can't. Only question now is who can we even replace him with?

signs of his failure as coach were already apparent with the early loses to medicore teams like Bk, Orl, etc. People just excused them because team needed time to gel. You dont need to gel if you have basic system to beat a team that on paper is inferior to you talent wise

I the same. I didn’t even know we had a game yesterday and then I saw we lost to another bottom feeder. This whole staff has to go. Literally everyone, trainers, coaches, ballboy, towel guy, everyone. I’m pretty much done with them all.

Sidenote: Has a team ever fired their whole staff at one time?
