I'm pretty much convinced if Zu came into the league 10 years ago he'd be a good starter in this league.
I can’t figure this guy out. He looks slow and a step behind everyone else for months, then he gets to start a game and LeBron makes him look like Ilgauskas or something. Credit to Zu for getting in there immediately and sealing his man under the hoop, cutting to the rim and having his hands ready, he stepped up big in this game and we desperately needed it so shorthanded.
Player of the game by far. Huge block on Randle late in the 4th to seal the game Huge block on AD on the oop attempt Great hands, great job finishing, and great positioning on both ends of theh floor from the big man. Like others said...looked like a completely differnet player. Don't underestimate the impact of veterans like TC and McGee on Zu...it showed tonight
The word desperate applies here... Zubac was being rendered useless with both McGee and Chandler on board. Then you have Wagner too? Zubac had to show up. Either he gets more time or we just showcased his potential trade value. From what I remember, Zubac played his way into fighting shape in Europe, came back and got sick bad. Never got into a groove during preseason.
He’s alive!!!! Great showing from him. He gives this team a different look, a center with a post game.
If we can get this version of Zu on a more consistent basis for situations like these, we just might be alright at that position. I love the ovation he got when he first went to the bench. Well deserved.
Im realy surprised he had a game like this. I'm one of his biggest critics here but if this wasn't a fluke, kid can stay LOL. He was spoon fed but he converted on most of his plays, great blocks too. Keep it up... trade value goes up with every good minute on the floor
That's because he actually has good post moves. Ambidextrous hooks and a spin move... when you're that big with a strong base, you just need to know where to be and have good hands. Which he does, and this is why Bron trusts him. If he had a consistent mid-range J, James would make him a second coming of Ilgauskas.
He can shoot the short Js or at least he used to demonstrate he had that touch. Now he's been afraid to do anything "outside his lane". But if he was tasked to shoot them, like they are tasking BI and Kuz to develop their own 1 on 1 create a shot talents I believe he could hit them. Just a matter of confidence and timing. The more he plays from now on the better he should be feeling out there. Tough to match last night because in addition to making all the dunks and having 2 blocks and the 11 rebounds he also hit 2 spinning hook shots.
Zu will get the start again tonight against big Marc. (I'm assuming) Keep it up kid .... these are the chances you've been waiting for.
I think the vets will miss enough time this year that he’ll get some run. Nice to see him play well with the opportunity. He got stuffed once, but overall he’s been going stronger to the rim.
Good game offensively. McGee and Chandler are way better defensively. I think we lost this one because our normal strategy of going over all screens at the 3pt line and dare any player to drive on McGee or Chandler doesn't work as well with Zu. Zu gets some nice blocks, but makes way more mistakes than McGee or Chandler would defensively
