How can a player be such a tease? One day he is shutting down ROY and the other ... ugh

I thought he was very solid defensively until the end of the 4th . CJ is going to make buckets .

Offensively his shot selection was way too much mid range happy but this is unfortunately nothing new .

Awful game. McCollum had his way with him on offense, and he couldn’t score to save his life aside from a nice jumper and a great dunk. I don’t know what the issue is, he and LeBron looked great together in preseason and now they don’t. Did Ingram stop moving without the ball? All his stuff is iso right now, and he and LeBron together are bogging us down. Multiple people have said it, it almost seems like Hart and Kuz starting and Ingram off the bench is better. We seem to have better flow with those guys. I know it’s only a couple games with him back, but we can’t afford to lose ANY games right now, we have to put our best lineups out there and get rolling.

He did. He ISOs now, much like in his second season.

Him and Bron at the same time on the floor is amazingly redundant right now.

BI looks weird out there for me. Like he doesn't really fit.

The pb is the coaching staff ( and probably himself) is seeing and using BI as a playmaker and not a real wing ( cuts , coming off screens ect).

He "can't" be the primary playmaker on both units so either use him as a wing or trade him

He was quite obviously forcing a lot of action tonight which explained the poor shot selection, misses, and turnovers. It was painful to watch.

I dont want to jump to conclusions, but what does BI, Wagner and a couple of firsts get us? BI and Rondo is a significantly better package for Butler than Houston's trash if we knew Butler would resign.

    BI for Beal?

Lebron has publicly backed BI, but if he insists on trying to be a one on one isolation player, I think he gets traded. We aren’t going to waste Lebrons final years on players that can’t fit with Lebron. If he could cut and slash without the ball vs try to iso all the time, Bron would find him for easy buckets.

I can’t decide if this is a BI or coaching issue yet, but probably a little of both.

He needs to do less ISO more cutting and off ball movement.

That said, that dunk was nasty.

You guys gotta remember this is all a adjustment period for Ingram, he's the one used to having the ball in his hands and making plays. I know the coaching staff will teach Ingram to cut without the ball and not hesitate on your jump shot behind the arc. I give him one month until he figures out how to play with LeBron

Good defense on CJ for most of the game. Of course as others have echoed, not so great offensively. But the coaching staff shouldn't be expecting him to succeed in isolations. He's not a perimeter scorer like KD.

I've posted this play before, but imagine if instead of Love that was Ingram off ball. THAT is precisely the type of action that will put him in a position to succeed, and its so easy.

His drive isn't as threatening without a jumpshot. He's not physical enough yet to bully his way to the rim like Giannis or young LeBron. He needs to focus on his shot and off ball cuts to the rim. Otherwise the defense knows he wants to attack the basket every time he has the ball, it's too predictable.

I will let the great Michael Jeffrey Jordan summarize:

I don't have a clip of just Ingram's defense but just watch the first play. It's the first defensive possession of the game... WTF are you doing. He knows to not leave Danny Green and now with Danny hitting that first shot he's in rhythm the rest of the game.

    Terrible effort/awareness.

We're in a little bit of a conundrum with BI. I think he has the most upside of any our young players, but he also seems to be the worst fit alongside Lebron. His insistence on Iso's is pretty maddening. There's got to be better ways for him to be effective offensively. It's just not an efficient way especially when he's surrounded with guys who can really pass. So far Zo, Hart and Kuz look so much better with Lebron. I still only want to trade him for someone spectacular like AD though.

Luke can preach defense till the cows come home but if this is the kind of effort or BBIQ he's going to have consistently.. damn

This kid has been terrible and has shown such limited growth that this is maybe the guy I'm most concerned about.
