And I like Luke and have also preached patience. But I can’t say that I don’t think we’d be at least 4-4 right now with better coaching. I’m betting Magic and Rob feel the same. Is that fair? Probably not but again, it’s the reality of things IMO.

I think we’ll turn it around but I’m not surprised Magic is cracking down a bit and trying to light a fire under the team.

If the players really love Luke the way we’re led to believe, they’ll respond and play hard for their coach.

I like Luke and am rooting for him. Like is personality, pedigree and temperament. He does however need to improve his insane rotations, minute distribution, defense and rebounding. Magic can do his part by giving him more quality depth at the 5.

this team had a bunch of these close loses or were in the game till the end last yr too but the reasoning then was "lack of talent" which I'll buy but how bout now? Still lacking talent?

Didn't know Woj and Zen were tight. I guess anybody could become a Laker source as long as you got a logo'd T and a solid handle like ZenMaster.

Seriously tho, I like it, cause like bfc and many have been saying, the offense has to be more than just hands on defense (leading to some undeserving reaching fouls) and then off to the races. It's too rudimentary and you're going to run Bron into the ground that way. I'm fine with wanting to play fast, but Bron has to play around 30 mins in that type of system and presently he's not. Bron then looks gassed in the 4th (which is why Luke started to sit him more during that quarter) and then you set him up to look bad down the stretch, as Kob's unforgiving shadow looms over him and our title banners.

Magic is probably thinking, Bron came to LA in good faith and now the media and even some Laker fans are saying it was a mistake for him to come. How's that going to affect free agency next summer? So I understand why Magic layed down the hammer...but it's all context.

Local LATimes reporters, Tania and Brad, clear up the details here...

I aint' no coach but I know what we're seeing out there in half court isn't a "system" nothing looks easy to them when they're not running.

um, yes. do i think they should have beaten SA at home and minny in the other one? yes. but they didn't get blasted. the team's problems are on the front office for ignoring the center position and the idea of shot making from the perimeter, which would have been more defensible had they spent their cash on credible defenders. but they didn't. when are people going to hold them accountable?

right. is avery johnson not available?! luke helped lead improvement already and seems to have the confidence of most of the players. making a coaching change mid-season with the talent on this roster would be an absolute joke, imo.

The roster construction isn't great; and yes the FO needs to be held accountable.

However, this should be a playoff barring any serious injuries/suspensions. If Luke doesn't at least get us there, that is a problem.

But that should be discussed after the season...

I have a hard time believing Jason Kidd and Mark Jackson are better than Luke.

This right here is the key. Magic isn't dumb, and he recognizes the lack of schemes we run, much like everyone else.
