It's probably the biggest complaint from any fan base when your team is losing. If there isn't lineup changes, then it's "Why aren't there any changes?"
I don't really fault Luke for messing around with rotations. It's early in the season and with a new team he needs to be testing different lineups. Without enough data on how each lineup does under certain conditions, he's just guessing. All things being equal, I would give him a pass on that. What I do fault him for is running a poor halfcourt offense. It's not the players messing up - but the scheme they're trying to run just isn't good. On defense, you can't really tell if missed rotations are because of coaching or player effort, it's difficult. On offense, if you can figure out the overall system in place, it's easier to tell if it's good or bad, even if players miss cuts, passes, etc.
You may be joking but im afraid, that the first 3 coaches you mentioned, are exactly the ones who would get the job after Luke. Shaw, Rambis, b0ron (that order is my guess).
I really think a big part of Luke's problem with rotations is he thinks he’s preserving players legs since we have such a high pace, but as they mentioned on LFR, players can't get in a good rhythm for their play when they go in and out so often. Luke need to set his starting lineup, and let them play most of the 1st quarter together, and start subbing near the end of the quarter.
I think we have too much similar quality overlapping talent too. Nobody is consistently separating themselves from the pack, or if they are, their minutes dont reflect it. Lance balls out two games in a row and then gets 10 minutes? It would be nice to know whats behind these decisions.
Lance balled out because of the Rondo and Ingram suspensions. We need another ball handler and a wing and Lance was given both roles and thrived. Which is funny because when those two were suspended, rotations did tighten up a little and we won two games.
Kind of my point. We have great talent, but it's too similar. We need to thin the ranks a little via trade IMHO. Nobody on this roster is going to be happy with 10 mpg. You need to have a few of those guys on a team.
Many will like this but Magic's being a clear hypocrite here. If you (Magic) feel so strongly and "Admonished" by Luke then why did you over and over again in interviews to give Luke time and be patient. Magic said recently on ESPN with SAS that it may take us to January before we're really full steam ahead. Oh yeah, not having Rondo (3 games) and Ingram (4 games) - 2 starters isn't also going to help. I'm one of the few that still supports Luke on this forum I get it, but Magic's gotta listen and trust his initial intuition here.
Right now, the western conference is packed. If the season ended today, the Timberwolves would be the #10 seed with a .500 record. Also keep in mind that the Rockets are currently 1-5. That won't last. I understand Magic's POV. There's not a lot of time to put the pieces together. Besides the quality win against Denver, we've beaten up on two crap teams. One of those teams (Mavs) was a close call. That won't get it done in this conference. We need more quality wins like the Denver game. Patience sounds nice, but it's a luxury in the west.
Personally, I think Woj is full of ****. I'm sure Magic told the team they have to play with more urgency, but there's almost no evidence of discord. Jeanie likes Luke. LeBron likes Luke. Where is he getting this bull**** from?
considering the complaints against Luke this yr is EXACTLY the same as last, (constant lineup tinkering, no half court O)....he doesn't belong for what this team needs if the goal is really winning a chip, i'm sure even w/o James and the other vet's and Randle/Lopez were kept around we'd still see the same deficiencies
