There are a lot of things to complain about with the way the team is playing, but scoring should be the last on the list. Right now Luke has us sitting at third in the league averaging 122.3 ppg. 1/10th of a point behind #2, and just ahead of GSW. Brad Stevens, the genius coach has the C Bags scoring at 101.5, which is the second to last in the league. D'Antoni who is an offensive guru has the Rockets at 110.0 for 21st in the league.
How efficient are we in the half court? And are those adjusted for pace? Check how many points we give up. It's all relative.
Lets get a few things out the way: it's been only 6 games, youngest coach, avg age of roster is 24.8 making us the 4th youngest in the league, 8 new players of which 3 are rooks and 1 has yet to play do to injury, lost 2 of our core starters to multi-game suspensions, had our pseudo starting PG on a minutes restriction and our pseudo starting center can't play asthmuch either - so team chemistry/communication, yeah that kinda becomes a thing, right? Okay, on to the stats: LA is 3rd in pts scored per game, 4th in fg% and 8th in offensive rating. Of the 122 pts we put up per game, we get 13% of those points from the line (27th in the league oh and the refs stay hatin') and 25% from 3 (24th in the league, D'anphony's brilliant offense constitute for 40% of the offense coming from 3, while 70% comes from the ref's whistle...wait, that ain't right)....so where we getting the rest of these points from? We lead the league with about 22% of our points coming from the fastbreak (16% of the points we score per game come from forced turnovers, which is 10th in the league) and we score a ridiculous 52.3% of our points in the painted area which is 3rd in the league (with the Joker/Denver leading the way with 52.7% and AD/Pels squeaking us out for second with 52.6%)....I guess this is a good time to remind you we have 1 center on a minutes restriction, 1 rookie center that hasn't played and this year, 1 center that is no better than a Zu animal trapped behind bars and another center who is an undrafted 2way player. Lakers offensive efficiency is rated at 7th and we're not too far off from Pop's dynamic offense in San Antone, which is ranked 5th. Meanwhile Stevens/Boston is ranked 28th. So what's the problem? Recall the stuff I mentioned at the start of this post, well it doesn't take a D,duhummy to figure out what the real problem is... Wait, what? Well you know what I was trying to communicate to yall...and I hear that's important to do on that end of the floor.
Luke's rotations (namely playing Zo/Rondo so much together and leaving Kuz out too long) totally killed any momentum we had in the 4th. He's had a long enough leash...it's time for him to start leading us to wins.
Whoever thinks we are good at anything, needs a mental check. We score a lot because we have 2 fast-break oriented PGs... We don't have any semblance of a scheme. On offense or defense. Not even a semblance. They run around on O, like in a goddamn teenwolf movie... or in a Globetrotters game. f*** off, useless hippie.
yep if a coach with a chip to his name can get fired with a poor talent pool, then luke is no exception
Hahaha...first its KCP is stealing Hart's minutes...yeah that's it. KCP plays not even 7 minutes tonight. Then it was Zo needs to start and Rondo should come up off the bench...yeah that's it. Rondo 0, Zo -11 Then its Luke needs to figure out a rotaton...yeah that's it. 8 new players; 3 of which are rooks, 2 on a minutes restiction, 2 suspended, 1 hasn't even played yet. Then it was Luke needs to draw up more plays on offense cause its not efficient enough...yeah that's it. We're 7th best in the league. Lead the league in fgas, yet 20th in getting foul calls....so essentially playing 5 vs 8....and yet that can't be it? Well, I'm calling foul, cause its bulls***... #Refgate
You do watch your BP, cause I'm not sure you're going to last this season haha....and I'm being dead serious. I do watch the game...and maybe if you took your eyes off Luke, you can too. Plus its getting kinda creepy. Rumble to the paint, no call...then getting called for a touch foul on the perimeter on the other end. Teague, Okogie, Rose's 14 FTAs vs 'Do, Zo, BI, Hart's 4 FTAs #DaggertotheHart.
the refs arent making this team the worse D in the league, sorry vash you can only blame refs for so much
I'll only address lineups - when we win it's: "Luke deserves more credit for sticking with this lineup down the stretch". When we lose, Luke catches hell for any selection he makes. I just want to see some consistency in lineups as we approach 10 games. Consistency along with these principles: KCP should play less, Kuzma should only play wing, and Rondo/Lonzo should be staggered. He deserves praise for being open to change (give as little or as much as you want), but also criticism for not exactly having a plan. He's trying everything. I want to see less of that as we move on.
@Khmrp Look at all the stats I've littered all over the place of late. Here's another one for yall: Lakers lead the league in FGAs inside 5 ft...Pels and Nugs round out the top 3. Meanwhile all 3 of those teams are in the bottom tier in 3PTAs. Meanwhile, Rockets take 41 3PTAs and lead the league in that category, yet the Rockets take as many FTAs as we do, while the Pels and Nugs lead the league with attempts from the charity stripe. Not much charity for us, I guess. Try playing aggressive defense when you're systematically taken out of the game and forced to play much more passively.
OK. So: 1. he is a young coach 2. he has a young team 3. he has to incorporate a "GOAT" 4. the refs are out to get us 5. the team needs time to gel When do I come back to see some winning basketball? 2035?
