I think a 2nd year player basically just said, "You missed your chance, and you will never play here now. I'll be taking those minutes, so don't even bother." Got to admire the confidence. I'm surprised some group hasn't come out and griped that he didn't donate them to some underprivileged kid with huge feet.
I've been thinking about this the other day and I think the perfect comparison to what we hope Josh can become on offense especially but also just in how they play is Gary Harris on the Nuggets. I've always been impressed with Harris' game on both ends of the court and how efficient he has been shooting the 3 ball. Granted I think Josh is stronger built and can switch onto bigger players better but Harris perimeter defense and shot making is definitely better at this stage. What do you guys think? I've watched a fair amount of Nuggets games last year to feel good about this comparison.
Aside from Rondo and Kuz's interview with Worthy and Chris, I thought Hart's was equally as good. What a perfect player to have on your team when it comes to maturity and knowing what's good for the team. We've said it before but I see so much Derek Fisher in him in how he handles interviews and how he words things when it comes to the team. I loved what he said about reminding the rest of the young guys that they can't just let the veterans take the lead and stand by. It doesn't mean you don't listen to them but you have to remain vocal and lead this team.
Hart is going to be great, every championship team needs a guy like him on the team. I think he could actually beat out KCP or Lance for the starting position but if him and Kuz come off the bench, watch out.
Yeah, I'd actually prefer Lonzo, Kuz, and Josh get a lot of run together off the bench and keep building their chemistry, at least to start the year.
I don’t like to overreact to one game, because Kuz sucked almost as much as KCP on Sunday, but IMO, Hart is already better than KCP so this isn’t like some slap in the face. KCP basically spots up for shots and occasionally gets a passing lane steal. Hart is better at rebounding (especially offensive boards), attacking the hoop for layups, defense overall, probably passing, and maybe even 3 point shooting at this point. I was fine with keeping KCP, but I still hoped to see Josh start and KCP with the bench.
this will happen a LOT, so I don't think there is anything to read into. We need to see all kinds of combinations of players. Now's the best time to experiment when it doesn't count.
No ..... you .... you .... you .... Josh "denier" .... Hart is better already and smarter and stronger and more consistent. Thicker too.
Definitely and this doesn't mean Josh is for sure the starter. I think this is just a good opportunity against the same opponent we played last to see if things look better. Luke said all pre-season the lineups used will be a way for him to evaluate and test certain things out.
maybe kcp will be more open to a trade if he doesnt start lol. .he has veto rights due to early bird rights
Deserves to start, has high quality 2 way player potential. Fringe all Star potential if he continues to work on his game. (Which I know he will)
