Lonzo and his girlfriend are headed towards a breakup, but they're figuring out how to handle things with the kid still. They never got married or anything so there's a lot of drama working through the whole mess. It should be pretty clear in his interview when asked "what's it like being a father?" and he said, "when she got pregnant I was like "eh" but when I saw her it was a special feeling" or something like that. "Eh"? Not a sparkling endorsement.
Anybody that watched the first season of Ball in the Family could see this coming a mile away. She was way too clingy.
I don't know that it's fair to judge her that way. A lot of things happen for the sake of the show. "Reality" television is always a rough way to judge someone, but definitely a rough way to judge a relationship. She's a good girl and she was with Lonzo way before he was famous and an NBA player. She was with him back in high school.
And the show is also trying to make the Ball family look good. Not surprised how she might not look great.
Being cleared for practice and getting into a full blown game are two completely different things here. We’re talking about a troublesome knee not a broken bone or sprained ankle or anything. There’s no point in rushing him back until he feels completely comfortable and is 100%. What if he sprains his knee in a meaningless preseason game? Do you know how mad people will get rushing him back? The chemistry will take time because this is a completely new squad.
I could be wrong, but the impression I’ve always had is that Lonzo is pretty immature. Like not just the way all 20 years old are immature, but a bit more than normal. I’m not surprised if his girl is saying he’s not stepping up and doing things the right way
Now before anyone says he just did this because a camera was in front of him are the same people who say he's immature because of things he does when a camera is in front of him also.
I’m not saying the guy will f*** off anythjng basketball related, miss games because he was partying or anything like that. As much as some here hate Lavar, I think he did a great job instilling work ethic in Lonzo. That’s not what I’m talking about. From all the interviews, film, everything I’ve seen just screams that he wouldn’t be mature enough to handle the responsibility of a baby correctly. It’s just my impression of him.
I'm confused--the video proves what? That he can chastise amateurs? Anyway, win ball games and there will be nothing to speculate about.
I agree with this. He doesn't seem to have the same sort of immaturity as a D'Angelo or Nick Young (probably going to make fixable mistakes), but he's got the sort of immaturity of a f***ing 20 year old kid that just isn't responsible enough for a child. To be fair, a lot of people aren't ready, but thus far I'm not convinced that the child has instilled that sort of maturity in him. And knowing what I know behind the scenes, I know he's not ready for a child. That's not hating or a big indictment on his character. Most kids his age aren't ready.
The video doesn't prove anything beside show an example of that while on the basketball court he can be mature and take it seriously. Like Barns is saying outside of basketball he hasn't always shown that same level of maturity and I don't blame him. My point from the start was just that we can't just look at what we see on TV or through a camera lens to say a person is a certain way. Many times there is more to people that we just don't know.
