Lol when I watched this video, my first thought was "Lonzo should be mad at the effort/attitude of these JBA players........he's the one that's paying all of them himself!"
My buddy just texted me that he was listening to the Bill Simmons podcast with Steve Nash, and Nash said that Lonzo the PG most like him in the league today.
I also think Nash was far superior at creating for others in half court sets via pick and roll, dribble penetration, etc. Nash and amazing handles, and looked like he had eyes in the back of his head where he could dribble to the lane, draw defenders toward him and do a behind the back pass to a open player. I’m honestly not sure Lonzo can do that.
Not as concerned as everyone else. I think our staff is just being super cautious with him and that's it. I think he'll be ready by pre season game time. I do think he'll eventually best out Rondo in the starting lineup. (LeBron really likes him on 2k too lol)
He's been running and dunking and shooting for a while. That's not the same as playing 5 on 5 and he should be there or very, very close to it. The first pre-season game is 10 days away. He should have been ready for that game.
lakers need to stop babying this dude....if he's cleared to play...stop with the niceties and saying "oh he may not be ready for the first rgular season game"...like dafuq? what do you mean he won't be ready? why wouldn't he be if you're saying he's 100% and medically cleared to play???
Later in the interview he wouldn't guarantee that Lonzo would be ready to play either. Hearing that he's been cleared is what I was worried about. He's not still injured, the Lakers are the ones who are holding him back. That makes me feel much better.
But WHY are we holding him back? Why are we protecting him so much? We need to stop babying this dude man...he's in his 2nd year now, and it's time to put up or shut up...we passed on TATUM for Lonzo, and some of the other point guards in the draft could pass him up this year if he starts slow (heck Fultz is looking nice already and I don't want HIM to pass Zo up). I would understand if Zo was not cleared to play...fine...keep him on the bench until he's 100% healthy...but he IS healthy...so why are we bein so "careful" with him? That actually concerns me even more if that's what we're doing...makes me think that his knee really is made of glass like Andrew Bynum and we're afraid he'll blow it out again
Because he's a rail thin child with a decent sample size of poor recovery. They're not wrong in bringing him back slowly as long as he really is medically cleared. If Lonzo is medically cleared, then he should be available by the start of the year, maybe even a couple of the exhibition games.
Yes I agree but then why is Rob saying that he may not be ready for the season opener? Why wouldn't he be ready for PRE-SEASON if he's 100%? It literally makes zero sense to me. Again...don't say he's 100% and then also say "I'm not sure he'll be ready for season opener"...dafuq?
Lonzo has been cleared to play. Holding him out of initial scrimmages is just part of their process to bring him back.
