Shot looks better, hopefully he reinforces it this year during the season. He also filled out a little bit, added some muscle which is great to see. I'm really looking forward to seeing Zo improving his game with his all time favorite player on the team to mentor him and Rondo to challenge him for minutes on the floor and to go after him in practice. Going to be a growing year for our young guys!

So he did in fact get a meniscectomy...

    Arthritic knee in 10 years, 9, 8, 7....

Seriously tho, it tells me alot that he wanted to come back quicker...maybe those trade rumors scared him into returning to the court sooner.

Either way, good for Zo to get this taken care of asap and even tho he's more prone to an arthritic knee, it shouldn't affect most, if not all, his Lakers career. However that doesn't account for any compounding injuries that impact that knee.

Wait .... he has no meniscus in that knee joint now?

^^^ If that's true all motion and pounding from his great hops is just bone on bone now at 20 years old?

^^^ if that's true this sounds horrible to me.

Can we get realdeal's wife on here? Hell .... even realdeal himself. ;)

Read the article. They removed part of the miniscus, not the whole thing.

In cases like this there's two things you can do: either try to stitch it back together and keep the meniscus fully intact or remove part/all of it. The meniscus gets awful blood flow so trying to "repair" it by keeping it intact takes a ton of time and isn't guaranteed to work.

What they likely did to Lonzo's was removed the areas that were torn and frayed so there's pieces missing in his meniscus. The time off is to let it heal up, but the recovery is significantly faster. If he'd had the whole thing removed, it'd be even faster than 6 weeks (remember Artest came back in a week or something).

The meniscus does not keep bones apart, but helps hold your knee together. Luckily there's a ton of other things holding your knee together so you don't technically need a meniscus. He'll likely have some pain and discomfort when he's older, but hey, that's going to happen pretty much no matter what.

Has anyone been watching season 3 of Ball in the Family?

I’m only on episode 8 but so far all I have seen in terms of work Lonzo has put in (it would be from the start of the offseason up until the draft combine) for training was he was going for runs in Chino Hills and doing chin-ups and body weight dips in his backyard with his two brothers.

.... get a real trainer man.

I doubt the Lakers allow cameras in the locker room. They went down that road with Odom.

I lost it first time I checked it out and realized LaVar's disgusting head with those mannerisms and his shtick would be a big part of the show. Who knew.
