Once again, I'm thrilled. Good riddance Deng. You sucked completely and I'm so glad you are gone. LuOLD seems like a good person off court, but boy did he rob us blind. Just for his and Moz's signings Jim and Mitch deserved to go. Finally, rid of the albatrosses. Feels good!

Oh. Yeah. That. Don't know. Well clearly they did not want to give up value and talent to get rid of Deng. So maybe we just have to wait till summer. Still is on Leonard to do his part like P**** P did not.

Boy was I wrong. Going back and reading all the hope we had for Deng on the first few pages is hilarious.

I still don’t fully understand the stretch.

Ramona shelburne said we stretched him and we will pay his salary off over 3 years...5,5,5.

However he was owed about 36 mil. Do we pay his 18-19 salary in full this year while stretching the last year of his contract in 19-20, 20-21, 21-22?

Everytime I see Deng’s name I think of Jimmy, Mitch and losing. We are in a new era. For the love of all Lakers legends, this thread must die. Please...

I'm not understanding the math here. He's due 18 million then 18.8. He gave back 7.5. So I am assuming that 7.5 is being split between the two years and isn't coming off the final year of the contract? If he was getting paid in full this season it would mean he's getting roughly 11.3 in that final year and that would stretch to less than 4 million a season, but ESPN is reporting it's essentially 5,5,5. So we couldn't work it out (or maybe it's against CBA rules) that the entire salary giveback took place in that final year?

Worst contract was Mosgov. At least Deng was a two time all star who actually was effective the year before he signed. Worst than the contract to Mosgov is the fact he was the first call at 12:01am. My brain couldn't and still didn't understand how a GM who got Gasol and Ariza in a two month span for peanuts, makes a call like that.

Lakers do not have one bad contract on their team at the moment. This is unreal how fast Pelinka and Mag got this turned around. 18 months, 18 freakin months. If they seal the deal on Kawhi Leonard in 10 months, I'm serious, Rob should be GM of the decade.

Who cares how they did it. Every single dead weight player is gone on this team. 2018-19 is gonna be a great year.

It makes me so happy to see this thread here, and to think I was initially happy with the signing. Who knew that he would forget how to play basketball, get out of shape, and age in dog years.
