Someone who knows the story of that board that 1st year and his own words of how he loved practicing shooting more than any other form of skills practice should bring both points up to help him and Bogut understand. Given his conditioning and inability to ever start shooting well enough to pique their interest after that. See 1st game last season.

Even just a tweet to him about his last place or next to last place on that board near end of their season. And how did he look the next training camp after Magic's 8% body fat directive?

At least Fultz had an excuse with the shooting .... he just forgot how to.

There's a photo somewhere of that training room board. We had it on here either in this thread or another.

I just had this random thought that the 2010-2013 version of Luol Deng would have been a awesome fit with this Lakers team and what we are trying to do (positionless basketball, good defender that can guard multiple positions, capable of creating their own shot and shoot the 3).

2010-2013 Deng would have actually been worth the 18 mil/year we are paying him and would be a big piece to this team.

It’s actually a true shame that Buss/Kupchak gave him that contract even though it was already obvious he’s on the decline and has already begun to be a corpse of his former self.

Was anyone aware of any reason the summer he came to us that he had any kind of injury that limited him working hard and coming into camp in prime shape for the big contract with a new team he just landed? And then, even if true, as he became healthier over the course of the season to be right at the bottom of attendance in the training area. Eff him.

That’s the point of my initial inquiry. Get his a** on the floor and create some value so he can be traded. I want all bad remnants of the previous regime gone.

We're thin at the 4... Deng played the position when he was in Miami. Give him spot minutes there. Can't hurt Deng unless he injures himself otherwise or he gets to cover Randle.

He looks fat to me. Optical illusion of his jersey in the front, or actual gut? He looks the same as he did when he got here, fat, slow by NBA standards, like he’s in his mid-40’s not 30’s.

Doesn't matter if he looks fat or not. Many NBA players look fat, but can still contribute. Granted it's a charity game but these dudes were NBA players and Deng held his own.

Play him, increase his trade value and reroute him. It doesn't help us nor him if he continues to sit and collect a check. We highlighted and developed the youth last year... That isn't as high a priority this year. Play this man, allow him to earn that bag and reroute him when the right deal develops (and it never will if he sits in the trainers room during games).
