It's not reduced, let alone significantly. He will play for the Lakers next year.

again, it's not right to compare PG's situation with kawhi

PG or his camp "stated" that his PREFERENCE would be to play in LA. there were never any reports that he was unhappy over being dealt to OKC

kawhi or his people have actually come out and stated that he's unhappy over being dealt and has no interest in playing for the raptors

We need to see him play and more importantly play long, sustainable minutes were we know his quad is going to hold up. I sure hope he doesn't sit out an entire year and even if he does that should be a red flag for us.

This. Times one million. Took less than an hour for Kawhi and his camp to show that this will be NOTHING like Paul George and his camp. Paul George was HYPED when he got traded to OKC and posted about it immediately and how he's looking forward to playing with Westbrook.

Kawhi? He's not hyped at all...and he can't be excited about playing with...Lowry? Ibaka? Val? lol...

Read what came out after the Paul George trade. It was eerily similar, and the entire fanbase sounded the exact same. "No way he'll ever play in OKC, he wants to be in warm and sunny LA!" He even kept flirting with the Lakers all season. I'll believe it when I see it, but as far as I'm concerned right now, he's a Raptor.

If you are so much more confident in our abilities to win - how can we do it without signing KD, Klay, or Leonard?

Well if he stays he stays. We dont know how healthy he is. The Spurs wanted our entire roster. We made the right call.

Read what everyone else posted. Those two situations are not similar. He is not staying in Toronto, and the Raptors know it. They simply wanted to dump DeMar. You are being negative for the sake of being negative. Most of us like the fact that we are a playoff team with promising young players, and we are relevant again.

I couldn't disagree more. Move on him now without BI, Zo, Kuz and Hart in the deal.....I mean are y'all that fixated on Moe & Svi already?

Kawhi is a calculated risk worth taking and his value is as low as it can get. You did see my proposal involve Deng, right?

You don't know that. This what the news when the Paul George trade was happening:

On top of that, he stands to lose 80 million dollars if he signs with LA. I'm not sure I see what's there to be happy about. The Lakers made a gamble. I don't think we made the right one, but we will see...

Um no. It's not even remotely the same. When Paul George got traded to OKC...look at how Paul George reacted to it. I remember most of us actually NOT being confident about landing him once he went to OKC mainly due to Westbrook (and then shortly after that, Westbrook signed his extension, further validating what most of us feared regarding PG staying in OKC). Paul george was ECSTATIC right away and posting about it on social media regarding his excitement to play alongside Wesbrook.

Kawhi? His camp is already saying stuff like "he's goin to sit out" and stuff. Paul George's camp NEVER said anytign about him sitting out once he actually got traded. Kawhi's camp is remaining strong on "LA or BUST" stance. He wants to be in LA and he'll make his way over there next summer.

It's just one or two sources saying he won't stay. And the same s*** was reported when George was traded. I'm telling you, a year is a long time. A LOT can change. I bet he's just happy to be out of San Antonio right now.

He'll be losing on 60 million from Raptors with Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka. They don't have the pull that an MVP has. I doubt Lowry and Ibaka are there in a season. Toronto will be looking to start over with their young guys and draft picks.

oh of course a lot can change in a year

i'd still be shocked if TOR made a deep playoff run with kawhi and he ended up leaving. especially in a EC without lebron

or maybe he starts a romantic relationship with lowry like PG did with the ninja turtle

that's why i'm saying best case scenario is that he actually does plan on sitting out the season

TOR has nothing to lose really. if kawhi wants to play, he will and they can go all in for a season before he potentially leaves. if not, they can start rebuilding now

I still feel the Paul George situation was compromised by the Lakers. Not even getting a meeting is weird to me. That didnt make any sense. Makes me feel like once they found out Kawhi wanted to go to LA, they stopped recruiting PG. PG said they never traded for me and there was no meeting.

I think the Lakers know they have Kawhi. No way it can go any other way. Whether it's this year or next year, Kawhi will be a Laker.

Um, all it takes is one pretty girl to change a guy’s mind.
