There’s no doubt in my mind that this is the guy Pop and the Spurs truly covet. Throwing in the farm (Ingram, Kuzma and Hart) is a smokescreen because they know we won’t go for it. I’m hoping we punt on a Kawhi trade and take our chances in free agency to get him. That way we lose nothing.

bi is just like kl in his mannerism, i do not see this guy having an ego thus being a potential sponge with james n kl someday (hopefully)....imagine if indy never made the hill trade, theyd couldve had pg/kl, this is our chance to not make the same mistake indy made

That’s my thought at this point. I think there’s a good chance at least one of our young guys shines out there next to Lebron.

Right. I think he has a good shot at really breaking through this year.

They all will shine; there will be just different parts of their game that will stand out; Zo's off-ball work while LBJ finds him on a cut, Kuzma's shooting while he gets open shot after open shot from James and his "gravity" he creates, and BI's slashing in open space while the defense is loading up on LA-Bron...:)

I think Ingram game will be straight killaz next year. His midrange game was pretty deadly at the end of the season. Too bad he got injured. He just need to get stronger!

Because Kawhi is a Finals MVP. :D

I love Ingram, but if it's a straight up deal and Kawhi is healthy that's a crazy no brainer .

HUGE IF. HOW THE HECK CAN ANY TEAM BE SURE WITHOUT WATCHING HIM PLAY AT LEAST A HALF A SEASON?

Whoa!! This injury has been around for a number of years per the article above that abeer posted:

But it’s a monumental risk to unload valuable assets for Leonard, whose quad injury first became an issue in 2012, then flared up again in 2016 before sidelining him for almost the entire 2017-18 season. Leonard might be healthy for the start of this coming season, but how much of an issue will the quad be moving forward? Will he return to his former level? If I ran any team, I’d have reservations about trading for him if the price remains high without actually knowing what version of Leonard I’m trading for.

Like I said, if he's healthy it's a no brainer. I'm okay with waiting since LeBron seems okay with waiting. Our assets will almost certainly appreciate in value. Kawhi almost certainly will not as long as he's not playing. Still, if I can get him at my cost I'll do it.

It's easy to look back when everything was peachy for Kawhi, his injury and if he's healthy:

That will never be known for sure and even if/when our doctors would take a look nothing can compare to playing 3 games in 5 nights and how that injury of his will hold up. Let alone for years to come.

Brandon there are no risks - no injury, outside people (Kawhi's uncle) issues, development issues, etc...

We have only had 2 seasons of Ingram and he's improved considerably from his rookie year to his 2nd season. Now he's been working on his body YET AGAIN and working with the same trainer that turned Victor into an All-Star.

He definitely looks like he has put on muscle. His jumper looks so effortless and smooth.

I hope this guy isn't traded and that we get a chance to see him in a Lakers uni. I believe he is working hard and will make a big jump.
