Lowe is a C-bags fan ... at least he's high on Ingram

The deal will end up being Ingram, Deng and 2019 first round pick. That's a fair deal for both sides and one that both team should be motivated to make...especially the Spurs as we've made all of our moves to preserve cap space for 2019 (thank you LeBron).

And unlike b**** a** PG13...Kawhi is going to see this and realize that we're coming for him in 2019 so he's going to stay hell-bent on his "LA or BUST" talk.

If we're able to do this...we'd presumably have cap space in 2019 to add a THIRD star potentially (Cousins if he's healthy? Butler? Klay? Kyrie?)..and we'll be ready to challenge the Warriors in 2019 (they won't be able to keep Cousins and if someone pries Klay away somehow...that Warriors team is looking very beatable suddenly).

I would probably still trade a Kuzma package for Kawhi tho.
    Ingram probably not anymore

Why would the Spurs want to take on Deng's contract?

Kawhi (assuming he's healthy) is worth Ingram by himself. Taking Deng's contract should and would cost more pieces unless you get a 3rd team involved (Atlanta).

I'm in a weird spot honestly. I know Ingram is going to be good, but also if Kawhi is healthy I seem to be willing to give him up if thats what it takes to get him here this year.

They're not going to trade him for nothing and there's something to be said for integrity. The Lakers should give up something or not make a trade at all. If you can find a third party for Deng, then do it. Otherwise, there's no really good reason that the Spurs should take Deng or that should even be offered to them.

Oh man. I didn't expect it, but Beadle's anger and misery is pretty delicious. :D

Alright nevermind. I'm back on waiting. I hope he walks for nothing. I want to see her bitterness when the Lakers and Kawhi are whooping her Spurs. :D

At some point, i was hoping Jules, Hart and some picks would do it. Now, let's wait. Reports are so conflicting, i would have a hard time pulling the trigger for Kawhi.

It’s funny how so many people are attacking Kawhi for not speaking out about this himself.

It’s very rare that a player ever speaks out in public during their trade demands. It’s usually always done by having their “sources” leak things or the media. Last person I remember being outspoken during a trade demand was Kobe.

Since day one she’s been of the mind that the Spurs need to demand the farm from LA. Some of her co-hosts have tried to logically explain why the Spurs don’t have leverage and would need to accept less but she never has it.

So yeah, I could just envision a segment next summer with her utterly defeated when Kawhi signs with us and their left with no rebuilding pieces. Would be very enjoyable.

I mean I get that Beadle is kind of salty because she's a Spurs fan, but she does make some good points about leadership and how Kawhi hasn't really shown any of it through this whole process. Do we really want to deal with this? What if he doesn't get along Lebron?

I just think Kawhi and his camp feel the Spurs mishandled his injury, which is a big thing to do. Once that trust is gone, its hard to return.

I get the points she is making, but also to flip it on her is it really best for Kawhi to be out in the media speaking for himself at this point? I'm sure she would just bash him for doing that as well. I think the best course for him in this tough situation is to do what he is doing.

The best best thing would be if Kawhi himself looked right into a camera and said "I want to be a Laker. Send me to the Lakers." But I realize that's rare and unlikely.

That would require him to talk, so probably won't happen.

She is a long time Spurs fan. Grew up going to games with her dad so she's finding this difficult to say the least

Not the most reliable insider, but still.. I doubt the Spurs can "fix" this even with Pop and Kawhi getting some time together via USA basketball later this month.

Remember, July 16th is the 1st day Spurs can officially offer and have Kawhi sign a super max deal. If the brinks truck can't salvage this relationship, nothing will.
