I know he is, that's why it was weird when he went against what Sham and the San Antonio dude said. I think he is honest, that's why he is credible because he knows what most people don't and has built a reputation on being on the know. That's why I trust what he says more then most, because of his history. These other dude seem to have more of an agenda imo.

Whatever trade talks obviously broke off. LA signed Moe, cLips signed their rookies today and Boston/Philly recently signed their rooks as well.

Rinse, recycle, repeat in 30 days.
But with each passing day, purrs leverage is lost.

Get Trump on the phone for another incarcerated American...depends on who you ask, but I heard dude freed Melo... speaking of which, after SA, potus should go visit Okc.

    Speaking of training camps...

Team USA mini-camp with Kawhi and Pop on July 25th. That's gonna be awkward.

[Windhorst] "A Kawhi to Lakers trade is not happening any time soon. The Lakers are not going to include Ingram, and the Spurs have no interest in taking back Deng's contract."

I figure that could be their last ditch effort to bridge the gap. Trade in August if it doesn't work out.

C Bags may trade Kyrie straight up for him. Otherwise, Spurs won't get any value in return.

Okay. I'd rather get him now, but if that's not happening then let's sign Brook and move on. Time for us to start preparing for life with LeBron and no Kawhi.

If Ingram and Kuzma turn into stars this coming year, they will already have won. And the Lakers can then add a star and take it to GS status.

I mean it's possible those two don't pop in year three and two respectively and we fail to attract a star.

But I'll take the chance since we have LeBron. If they ever come down to Ingram and stuff and we can reroute Deng, I'm still in.

Lakers need a couple of shooters and they are set. I know Carmelo isn't a popular choice, but he coming and if he can take a 6th man role, would solve the shooting issue. He could close alot of games as well. Jamal Crawford wants back in LA. Get those two guys and if these guys can click by playoff time, things could be very interesting.

Carmelo isn't really a shooter and he expressly forbade OKC from benching him. I'm not sure he'd be more receptive here. He's probably going to Houston. They fit his iso game.

Rondo shot better than Crawford from three point range last year.

I’d agree that Melo on a minimum deal could work well assuming Lebron can keep him in check and get him to buy into a sixth man role.

But Windy, we don't need to include Deng.

Kawhi's got a 15% trade kicker that he can waive to facilitate a trade (and why wouldn't he?).

However if he doesn't, his incoming salary becomes 23.1m. If we stretch Deng, we open up about 15.4m, meaning we can take in all of Kawhi's contract into our cap space while needing to match only 7.7 in salary. You only need 4.3m in outgoing salary (175% + 100k) to get a deal done and 2 of Kuz/Hart/Moe plus Zu can get us there.

Now if Kawhi waives his trade kicker, we can essentially leave Kuz out of the deal to match salary.

I honestly think that's our proposal right now: Kuz, Hart, Zu, future Laker 1sts...but those greedy bastards want BI too and that is what the hold up is. Remember, there were reports that Kuz was "untouchable" which is us pretty much saying, we relented on Kuz so far, but we'll include him as our last offer. They won't budge and want BI also, so we're at a stalemate.

Plus I don't like the Deng stretch dead cap of 7.4m on the books for the next 5 years, so I'm hoping we can get a 4 team deal with the Nugs adding 1sts to get off the expirings of Faried/Arthur to avoid the luxury tax, ATL taking Deng plus Denver/LA picks and swapping out Shroe's deal for less incoming salary (ie Gasol or Mills), Spurs get Kuz, Hart, Zu future unprotected Lakers 1st, Shroe and Arthur and/or Faried's expiring deals in exchange of dumping commited salary past next summer and we get Kawhi plus scraps.

That would be the deal that I favor the most with Kuz and Hart as the only ones we sacrifice. We can also remove Hart for Moe and offer that deal on July 31st at the earliest. But I hope things get resolved before then.

Melo might not be 2009 Melo but with Rondo and Ball playing Billups role, he could help get Melo in his spots at the elbows. Melo would be motivated also. If we are risking with Rondo and Lance, we can do it with Melo. I think Score 1st and 2nd Weatbrook wasn't the right pilot for the melo airplane.

At this point I'm happy to just wait it out, they obviously aren't getting any great offers, by the deadline we can trade the expirings we signed now and have more pieces.
