^ I think it's more career-threatening or serious injuries. It used to be sprained ankles and sore shoulders. Now it's torn Achilles and rotator cuffs.

I'm rooting hard for a clips/rockets first round. would be awesome for one of them to be assured out prior to round 2.

Man that is concerning. You're talking about a top 2 NBA player with a nagging injury of a type that is not good for a guy his size. I really hope this is some doctors fault and not the beginning of another Derrick Rose situation.

I have his injury. It's tricky. I broke it a year and a half ago and still have constant pain in the area. The break is also still not completely healed even with the screw.

    Awesome news.

I hope either the Pacers or Miami gets to play CLE in the 1st round.

Do we still target KD, though?

He's had nagging injuries all year. It's not like OKC is alright without him either. Despite Westbrook's ungodly play of late the Thunder might not make the playoffs.

I still target him, but he is no longer the savior and the carrier people thought he'd be... part of me would prefer Westbrook.

Man, even with Ibaka and KD out, Westbrook just keeps killing it. I think if the Thunder win 50 games and make the playoffs, Westbrook has to be MVP.

Knee, back, and foot injuries are a huge red flag. I'd proceed with great caution.

Living here in OKC, the natives are getting restless. They are really scared he'll walk at first opportunity, despite having a restaurant here (which is pretty amazing). They feel him being under Jay Z / ROC Nation, they want him in a big market.

If things go badly for them this summer, I see the Thunder trying to trade him honestly. They've got Durant and Westbrook and they're STILL not able to get over the hump? I see them trying to move him soon because a) he's now an injury concern and b) it honestly seems like he might not be what we all want him to be (the next "guy").

I'll be honest. At this point I DO NOT WANT KD.

I speak from personal experience with his exact injury and exact situation. Jones Fracture surgery, screw causing discomfort. The problem is even with surgery, the bone may never fully heal and then you have to leave the screw in. I broke mine in September of 2013. The bone still has a gap. So it obviously isn't healing without perhaps a bonegraph (which I can't do right now and take myself out of commission from work). That means I have no choice but to leave the screw in, else the bone may break from just stepping wrong on a dog toy. And the screw head is casing pain. There is no pain at the actual break site where the gap remains, but the screw head can either rub on the cuboid bone (like Durant) or the actual hard bone portion that has nerves is simply is not fond of a foreign object. And the pain can be pretty bad. I have an ongoing prescription for Vicodin that I don't take all the time, but I went to Disneyland over Christmas and I had to pop a few throughout the day.

We have two dudes on the roster with a Jones fracture already in Randle and Kelly. Kind of don't want to add a third. The fact that Durant is having the issues that I have with this injury makes me VERY worried since I know the pain. Is it something he could play through? Possibly. But to ask someone to play through the pain I have for 82 games plus playoffs is unfair and would sap the joy out of the game for him.

Why can't he get the rod inserted like Randle did? He's already out of commission. I'd just bite the bullet and do it. It's far more stable than the screw and you avoid the discomfort issue of the screw causing nerve pain.
