again, because this is on the last page I believe, reported earlier. Most of us don't believe this. if you wanted the video it seems like David was just speculating and this had been the only time someone has speculated on this. With how quite it is, I believe Randle will be back. He always said he wanted to be in LA with the Lakers when things were brighter. Here is his chance even if its with the qualifying offer
I think it's great if we can keep him and sign him next off-season to a bigger deal. Aldridge has no sources, he talks out of his arse. My biggest preference would still be to ship him to SA for Leonard in a s&t along with some other assets. Julius isn't a trade filler, he is a great young asset to any team.
Keep Randle, trade Luol Deng along with kuz, Hart, Zu and 2 unprotected first round picks for Kawhi. Zo Kawhi Ingram LeBron Randle
I just said it in another thread, but the Lakers could do him a solid here and give him a one-year deal worth a lot of money, even a max level deal. He gets to stay with LeBron for a year and view it as a "tryout" to see if that's enough to push the Lakers forward. If not, he gets to hit FA where more teams have cap space anyway. The Lakers get to pursue Kawhi and everyone wins.
Shams... Unlike Aldridge.... has actual sources. But I'm amazed at how Stephen A Smith, Broussard and Aldridge have made a living in the NBA without a single credible source. Every time one of them speaks... It's literally complete fantasy and fictious.
doubt it because that would mean no way we could sign Kawhi next July Edit: Unless of course its like Real said for 1 year
If they trade for Kawhi this summer, there's not really a way for Julius to stick around. They'd have to either trade Julius out to San Antonio or waive their rights to him to create enough space financially.
Sign randle to a reasonable deal, shift efforts to converting deng into an expiring. Tons of teams with space next summer if we need to get of randle's contract.
Near max level makes no sense to me. Having the repeater luxery tax for the future in mind, the Lakers want to avoid getting over that threshold without a legit reason. They will pay him about just enough to stay below the tax limit.
This. - Randle is trending up - Get him on nice deal - Playing with Lebron will boost his value more - Another asset in the bin for future trades This is a no brainer to lock him up.
That's a good point. All I really mean is giving him a deal a la Pope's deal last summer. It's good for both sides. Julius doesn't necessarily get job security, but he gets a nice pay check. Even if the Lakers gave him a max by the way, even with Lance, they're unlikely to hit the luxury tax.
