I've always felt Ramons knows more than she reports. She's a Laker fan to her core.

I think if the negotiations are fruitless, Magic and Rob will make sure Kawhi publicly talks about wanting to join the Lakers.

They prefer not to tarnish his image but I do think this idea will be entertained if SA doesn't bite. That will kill any leverage especially if he publicly says he won't stay anywhere but with the Lakers.

It's time to stick a fork in the SA franchise.

The Sixers can come out and say that Markelle Fultz is off limits, but we can’t and the same with Ingram?

Ainge has been too quiet. I am worried. Why would the Celts just let Kawhi join the Lakers and make them a super team?

If the green bastards trade Brown, Smart and a pick and Kawhi is healthy, they will be the best team in the NBA in two years, and maybe good enough to beat GS in the finals next year (because GS will be on very tired legs after 5 straight finals, and going through the West gauntlet, when Boston has scrimmages in the playoffs in the east).

    Kyrie, Rozier
Tatem (only getting better, playing for a great coach, with great players), Avery Bradley?
    Kawhi, Ojeleye
    Hayward, Morris
    Horford, Baynes

Yikes!!! So young and with a great coach. Bron has only a 3 year window, at best. Then again, keeping Brown (the way he is progressing) AND Smart, and their picks, they may be better off without Kawhi.
If Kyrie gets that knee rights, they are easily the best in the East for the next 4 years and right there with GS and Houston.

To even get in that mix, the Lakers need Kawhi and still another piece - unless Kuz or BI progress rapidly to a top 30 player.

Klay Thompson - if GS loses next year, will be a Laker in 2019. Perhaps the plan right now.

I doubt C bags offer a lot with Kawhi not committed to stay there.

We got Lebron , relax . Why would the C-bags even trade for Kawhi ? The best option for them is to keep their current roster and see what they can do if it's fully healthy .

As for Kawhi , I absolutely no idea what it is going to happen .

Kuz and Hart would be my offer right now , nothing more

Of all the available FA’s this year and next, Kawhi is the best player by quite a margin. And given that Lebron has maybe a 3 year window in peak form, Kawhi would probably be our best option to exploit that window. I wouldn't give the Spurs our farm but I'd be willing to give up one of the following:

Randle - Moe or Hart - future picks
Ingram - Deng - Moe or Hart - future picks
Kuzma - Deng - Moe or Hart - future picks

If they want Ingram or Kuzma, they need to take Deng too.

Ainge said a few days ago that he's not likely to move on Kawhi. Asking price is too high, too much baggage, contract situation is too iffy. Basically it's what I said: Ainge is risk averse. Why bother trading for Kawhi when Boston has the East basically wrapped up?

The Lakers are competing with the Sixers and right now as far as we've been told two things are true on that front: 1. Philly wont offer Fultz, Simmons, or Embiid and 2. Kawhi wont commit there. That tells me we can beat any offer they throw at the Spurs as of today.

As for our offer, I'd include Ingram. Any deal not including Ingram will get vetoed by the league. Something like Ingram/sign and trade Randle by themselves is probably what the Lakers are willing to do. It's not that they dont want to keep Ingram, but if you have Kawhi, you don't really have space for Ingram. The final offer should probably be Ingram/Randle/Deng/some 1sts leaving LA and Kawhi coming back even if Deng ends up somewhere that isnt San Antonio. We keep Hart, Lonzo, and Kuzma and we get LeBron and Kawhi. We're contenders for the next 5 years and on.

And the rumor that Kawhi would sit out is plausible. Kyrie threatened something similar in Cleveland. You arent allowed to do it, but the team would have to prove you're incapable of playing. Some people think Kawhi already did that last year and sat out the year mostly healthy, but unwilling to play for San Antonio. If you've got a doctor who vouches for you, it's hard to prove you're healthy enough to play. All Kawhi has to do is say he's still recovering from surgery and doesn't feel ready yet.

I am now on the Boat on trading for Kawhi Leonard right now. (Bird Rights)
It guarantees the Lakers Kawhi Leonard right now so a PG thing doesnt happen.

I would do S+T Randle (rumors he wants out) + Ingram + Zubac + 1st Round if needed.
I dont see the Spurs dealing with us if we dont include ingram.

Dump Deng next summer for a 1st round pick and KCP is also off the books.

At the same time I can see Leonard opting in to his final year so the lakers can sign another max player like Klay or Jimmy Butler or even KD (if he wants to leave)

Everyone has to remember that with all the signings and Julius’ 12 mil cap hold we are at the cap limit and any trade for Kawhi has to have matching salaries (pretty close) going out.
Any team taking deng will want at least 2 1st round picks and spurs will want at least 2 1st round picks for Kawhi. I think we are waiting this out to sign Kawhi as a FA next year.

We can release Jules cap hold to free up 12 million if we want. We can also still stretch Deng. That would open up enough to absorb Deng's entire salary.

Derrick Rose already sat out a season while healthy. Yes it’s against the rules but the team can’t make you play if you say you aren’t healthy.

If I were the 76ers I would be patient too. Why give up Saric/Covington, two good players for a rental. Your team and Boston are now the favorites in the East and you have cap space going into 2019 to sign someone that actually wants to live in Philly.

I’m not sure who that might be, Jimmy butler maybe?
