If Bron is coming - and I know this is still a big "if" - I'd be very happy with this. Keeping most of our young guys, adding star power. Playoffs now, while being prepared for the future... what's not to love about that? Kawhi will still remain an option, regardless of what happens this summer. I don't know about you guys, but I'd be very pleased with this, because I am not a fan of compromising our future, yet I will welcome Bron with open arms if he wants to come. Well... if he doesn't PG us now, of course.

I'm trying to get excited about Cousins...and I think that if he comes first and guarantees us LeBron? You do it.

I think it becomes important to re-sign Randle though if we're going for Cousins...Randle is Cousins Insurance.

Good thing is, the market has shrunk considerably for somebody like Randle...he's likely not getting a max offer from anybody or potentially not even an offer. He may have to play on his QO which is great for us...we'd just need to stretch Deng I believe to get max cap room...of course getting rid of him altogether would be even better for us...could give us more options to fill out the roster

10 years from now all the players will have have grown up on the Jim/Mitch era Lakers so trust me, you won't be hearing it by then.

Are we really going to give a max contract to a player coming back from an Achilles injury again ? LMAO.

Cousins would already be a bad addition if he was healthy

TBH, just wanted George cause he was free. Boogie sounds great imo and a better fit when hes healthy. Don't let the Achilles scare you, he's young and never had Shawn Kemp game.

Boogie isn't a better fit by any means . He's a below average defender in the perimeter ( if your 5 isn't good at switching , forget about it in today's NBA when it comes to winning the title).

He's a TO machine on the other end too .

He will be run out of the building by GS .

    Pass

We just don't know about the achilles but we are in a better position than anyone to obtain the young man and if it turns out he's solid, keep him. Even if a Kawhi deal happens. If he comes back full then this may be a blessing in disguise. A team with LBJ, Kawhi, Boogie, Randle and most of our youth?

And 13 boards and 1.6 blks isn't average defender stats. Dude can box out anyone in the league. A 25.2/12.9/1.6 guy on the same team as Davis? Impossible one would think.

He'll gain maturity and stop arguing with refs eventually and get back on D. He has his areas that need shoring up for sure. But he's in he's prime. His low post D is better than AD's but he is slow at transition and would need to work on that especially with us. But by no means a bad defender.

I can't begin to emphasize how tough an interior Boogie and Randel might be. The Dubs would hate that.

The good thing about him is that he is not playing the "athletic game". He scores, he's a rebounder. 20+/10+ for the career, can shoot FTs, can even shoot the 3. I mean, if he's able to play at all, he's a great fit.

I don't what to tell you . Pels were better without him .

Switching and transition D are key , he's not good enough at any of these things ...

He's a very talented stats player ... not an impact one

Great player BEFORE getting the kiss of death.

Also not exactly a positive locker room presence.

I'd pass unless it's a one year deal especially since his value is high as the main option on offense. As a sidekick he isn't exactly as valuable.

He could give the Warriors problems. Just worried about his mobility. If he can still switch onto perimeter players then I would do something like a 1+1 with 2nd year team option.

We need to be designing teams to beat GS. Their main weakness is ISO ball on Curry (which LeBron can excel at), as well as lack of size down low. Cousins could bully Green and force the Warriors away from going small, which is exactly what we need to do.

Let's be clear. I hate LeBron but he is the best player in the league and if he wants to be a laker he is welcome.

LeBron is easily the best player of this millennium including Kobe, Duncan, Shaq etc... At this point it's not debatable. Shaq in 2000 was more unstoppable but doing it for 15 years now with the minutes he has played... Unheared of.

Also LeBron puts up his numbers while shooting like 54% from the floor. He never gets hurt, doesn't shoot 50 times a game. He has also been amazing in the playoffs especially in game 7s etc... He is the second best if not the best of all times.

i don't believe you need to play switch-everything defense to win a title. two of the best defenses in the last few years don't do anything of the sort.

that said, cousins hasn't proven he can defend in ANY system, pre-achilles injury.

and that said, at least he wants to play in la, which makes him pretty f***ing unique, i guess.

Boogie has been wanting to be a Laker for years, I think most fans have sensed that. In fact, I’m sure he will sign if the Lakers want him. I will bet my house on it!

    Oh wait...

If he wants max, it’s 1+1 with a team option. If he’s willing to take significantly less than max, I’d give him 2+1 with a team option.

Anything more than that and I’d be disappointed.

And this is all predicated on us keeping Randle. If it’s somehow between Cousins or Randle, and we choose Cousins, then Magic and Pelinka need to be fired.
