I still would think Randle would have had some stuff lined up. I wonder what kind of contract we are now looking at giving him.

Jules's needs to ditch Mintz...I'm totally cooling on keeping the guy. We either keep him at 12M, or sign a QO and get used in a trade for Kawhi.

I'm not signing Jules long term and having that money leak into next years cap....I want Kawhi dammit and I ain't letting Mintz ruin another summer. f*** that!

Like Jules the person....hate his representation.

I think all the restricted FA's are going to get effed...nobody is going to be willing to offer max offers...

I think we'll see a few restricted FA's take QO's and wait until next summer for a better deal when more teams have cash to spend...

He signs a QO and a trade deadline deal is a lock. No other teams will compete with the offer with so little time to convince Kawhi to resign so we could do a lowball. Maybe even add some picks and dump Deng. I've been laughing at all the Deng-dump ideas but if the Spurs wait until Feb they will be desperate for any return.

Probably wishful thinking, Spurs won't want the negativity of a dissident like Kawhi even 1/2 season. But I if Jules does the QO then we still have a problem retaining him next yeat and signing a big-time FA. Although options to trade Deng will get better with one year left on his deal.

No. Not really. I was never convinced the market would be high for him I just didn’t want to keep knocking him.

There is no market for him. Which is too bad to Jules, but... good for us. I'll take it. I don't mind keeping him for the right $$, but honestly... the Spurs should take our offer: Randle, one young guy of their choice, picks.

So if Mintzy cost PG boatloads of millions of dollars, how much would it hurt for JR to give a few million discount, right?

Im starting to think, there's some kind of "under the table money" deal betweet Paulina and OKC. If not, i would cut my ties with Mintz asap if i was his other client. Guy is incompetent to say the least...

Unprecedented money crunch, and less to do with his play. Add RFA on top of that, and there just isn’t the money available on teams with needs.

Lakers were wise to not bid against themselves. But if Randle is pissed how things are handled, he may take the QO and walk next year.

Seems like speculation from David to me after watching the video. Granted Aaron Mintz doesn't seem to be wanting to do the Lakers any favors right now.

Well it really doesn't matter how he feels we own his rights, so we can match whatever offer

I don't believe it and as Real already pointed out this is the first we've even heard anything like this. Go and watch the video. Sure sounds like speculation to me, nothing concrete

I repeat, if Jules does not sign the QO by Oct 1st, he remains a RFA next summer.

If he finds an offer with the teams that still have cap, it will definitely be less than the max and most likely tops out at 18m. We match that and guess how many stars make around 20m (see Kawhi) and how many stars make over 20m+ but with our cap space we can take in (see Dame).

Jules/Mintz can act like they got leverage here...they don't. So f*** them and proceed to take your position over the barrel.

We have literally never heard one report of Randle saying that. Not one. That’s the first I’ve ever heard of Randle making it clear to us that he wants to leave. I’d also think if he didn’t want to be here he’d have signed a big offer sheet already.
