Turns out after the Laker decided to retire Kobe's jerseys this offseason, they also made a pact that no other Laker would ever:
    • Wear #8 ever again
    • Wear #24 ever again
    • Have the last name Bryant
It had to be done, sorry bro. I'm certain he'll land somewhere

Sometimes life isn't very fair kid, but I do truly wish him well.

Sorry kid .... ACLU got together to put "minority" pressure on the Lakers. All about the white skinned connection this year.

The trade down from 28 to get Hart and TB was to get that 42nd pick. They coulda gotten Hart at 28 and called it a day.

This is Magic/Pelinka's 1st 2nd round pick...and they give up on him after a year where he gets barely any shine on the pro level.

I honestly think this is more strategic than salary driven.

Recall that we re-engaged with SA on a Kawhi deal and then things went dark...like pitch dark. Not a peep on that front. Then we see Ennis get dropped and now TB get dropped (both those dudes didn't need to have their contracts decided till 7/5). So I'm thinking the Spurs were either not interested or LA is trying to hold TB out (see injury report, before he was waived). Its kinda similar to the Zo injury (to possibly hold him out of a trade as well).

Remember these are Magic/Pelinka picks, so there is going to be some pride involved in that they wouldn't give up on these guys so easily....unless something is up.

Also another note is that Jules can't be negotiated in a S&T till free agency started, so if that is agreed upon with SA, then you can't see it through till July hits.

But then again, this all could be much ado about nothing...

Very weird to cut him EARLY while keeping Zu.

If there isn't a grander plan here, that's a total brain fart of our fo.

His skill set is fit for the NBA right now, would have been surprised if no one picked him up. Good luck kid.

why'd we give up on this guy so fast?

would have rather kept him than zubac who just rots away on the bench

There's no reason to blame the FO on this...wait.... I thought it was the Jules thread.

Now on this matter and with BLo, I have no clue what Rob/Mag were thinking.

Why did we let this guy go again?

He's a modern big...active defensively, can hit the 3...lots of energy...

WTF? While Zu still sits on our bench rotting away...
