I usually tend to support people that have balls and are bold.

Lavar is one of those very rare instances where if he fails, my schadenfreude will probably outlast my sadness.

    Wow! Get your merch!

I guess nobody wants to watch a bunch of LaMelo Ball types playing pickup ball

I’m guessing they can’t afford to finish playing one season lol

Nothing like thinking you're so clever you can play a buffoonish character such as a loudmouthed designated pro westling "bad guy" and it will be good for business. Standing up and "sticking it to the MAN" .... like Melo's HS coach, UCLA with Gelo, the Lakers organization multiple times, the Chinese ESPN crew he stiffed, Lithuania, forfeited games in youth tournaments from pulling your team off the floor and on and on. Coco our sadly deceased super smart gorilla would even have known that getting everyone who knows who you are to start hating you is just about the dumbest thing ever.

That was a really interesting read.

I cannot stand the guy but if the JBA succeeds or helps some of these kids realize their dreams then it is a success and LaVar should be commended.

I can’t believe I’m typing this but I hope the JBA succeeds for LaVar and for the sake of some of these kids. These impressionable young kids put a lot of trust in LaVar. I hope he doesn’t let them down.

As a businessman, I would have had ticket prices low at first to generate interest and then slowly raised them. If it isn’t a money making venture yet, the appearance of empty arenas hurts worse than generating modest revenues for ticket sales.

If Ball wasn't such an irascible individual, he'd maybe have some corporate sponsorships. Agree that these kids need an outlet. I do believe that Ball has their best interest at heart though the kids need to take advantage of it. His execution of it is a matter of opinion.

:KobeConfused: .... can't imagine why no corporate sponsorship. Who wouldn't want to have a guy that says something cringe worthy nearly every time he opens his mouth connected to their company?

Your response to this is honestly why it's unsuccessful. Lavar's polarizing personality is a double edged sword and a good idea like this one will fail under the power of the crooked NCAA all bcause Lavar isnt an easy person to like.

I wonder how and especially how long he keeps paying all these guys without generating any revenue?

I have to imagine Facebook is paying him a solid amount for the streaming rights. That's the only obvious revenue stream.

Stepping away from free agency for update on Melo and how he's been doing since his high school coach told him he didn't want Melo jacking up so many long shots every game (Lithuanian coach same thing for that matter) ..... and LaVar did what he did. In both those situations. Took his kid away and went home. Thank goodness this Dad is the greatest home schooler and basketball coach of all times all rolled into one.

    https://www.yahoo.com/sports/m/b2a7c393-342d-3fa7-b643-2a0a8ceee544/ss_lamelo-ball-horrid-from.html

And sadly the comments are as anti LaMelo and mean as they are for LaVar. Nice marketing plan. Here actually is not a mean one but it is terribly sad as it is exactly what has happened and continues to happen to the kids.

Father pulls kid out of college and becomes a pro over seas, no longer eligible for college basketball. Father pulls kid out of high school to play ball over seas, no longer eligible to play any college or high school ball. These kids are being destroyed by their father and now being embarressed by the media for the results and decisions of their father. All financed by the only son with some talent and the only bread winner and possibly soon to be a ex-Laker.

So Lavar strikes again. Called Rondo a “little backup point guard” to Lonzo. He just doesn’t get it.

I really don't want to lose Ball. sirron ... any way, as only you can, to crack on dips*** LaVar in mainstream media telling him he's going to get Lonzo traded?
