I still don't believe this. Ramona and Jeanie seem to be tight. If I had to bet on something, I would bet Jeanie told her to tell the world PG isn't coming so when he does it eliminates the tampering claims. The stories of Cyberx and that Maverick dude sound believable and have too many details, and they also line up with everything we were hearing last summer. I honestly believe Paul George and Lebron James will be Lakers.
I'd be super shocked if PG stayed in OKC. They literally just stood around and watched each other go one on one. Russ is the guy there and he is a do-it-all-gunner. He stay there more power to him. They aren't beating no one to get to the finals.
^^^ To add to that, I’m having a hard time with it too. I said it already, but how could he make up his mind before sitting down with Magic and Rob? Could phone calls or a face to face with LeBron in addition to the Laker’s pitch honestly not sway him in our direction? So much smoke for over a year that PG wants to be a Laker, that only winning in OKC (like WCF appearance) can change his mind and they are out in the first round with no money to improve the team (plus Melo opting in), and suddenly he’s become Westbrook’s BFF after one season and abandons what HE said in his ESPN special was his dream growing up? There’s no way IMO that his decision is made already for OKC, no way, unless he knows something behind the scenes that we don’t.
Here is that podcast where Ramona was saying it was a “Hail Mary” at this point for the Lakers to get PG: http://m.espn.com/general/play?id=23949366&cast=5988567 Btw, I think it’s just all smoke until PG meets with Magic.
Well, Ryan Hollins of espn said he was 99.9% sure PG is coming, so unless Ramona is Jeanie’s shill, whoever turns out to be right will have more cred with me because they both have taken strong opposite sides.
Common sense says Paul George is coming. And common sense has never let anyone down in the history of common sense.
So he's all about winning, yet he mentions the cLippers as a potential spot to land at.....really dawg? That's how I know he's full of s*** and this whole production is full of s***... He's coming to the Lakers....now don't be a tampon about it, Paul.
Oh he'll give us a meeting, his "hometown team". He may be really dumb, but he's not r*******. At least not yet...
Around the 1 minute mark, she talks about PG13. “Paul George seems to be staying in Oklahoma City, at least that’s all the indications everyone seems to have right now. And the feel I have certainly, as a reporter talking to people.” Maybe I’m reading into thing, but what I bolded seem be some carefully chosen qualifying statements from Ramona. It’s like she’s acknowledging that it’s understandable to think George is staying in OKC because of all the noise. While subtly implying that if you step outside of that noise (and perhaps have some inside sources), you might feel differently. So with that said, does anyone have a timestamp for the podcast where she apparently says it’d be a Hail Mary to get him to LA? Without hearing what she said, my gut instinct is that the “Hail Mary” assessment is Ramona playing a role and purposely feeding the George to OKC narrative.
