trading randle would be a huge mistake

without him this team would have no rim protector. not to mention the major strides he made last season

they need to step up their efforts to bring him back

Well Lebron is shallow and pedantic and this is the West. I wish for a Lebron ego reduction for your sake.

I love Julius and I think he'd be a good addition as the "Draymond"-ish 4/5 with LeBron and George...

But at no point in his career could he be described as a "rim protector". He blocked half a shot per game last year. At no point in his career has he ever really been a guy who legitimately protects the rim on a regular basis.

Oh I wish for it too, but I doubt it. It’s possibe as his body ages he becomes more actual humble than fake humble, but at the moment he IS the best player in the NBA, so that’s the tradeoff you take to be relevant/good again.

He’s actually a better perimeter protector than a rim protector. I was shocked at the lock down perimeter defense he showed on some star guards on switches last season. When he was locked in he was a beast in that area and it actually won us some games.

As always, he has the ability to do this stuff. He was tremendous at times and incredibly versatile defensively, but rim protector is just not a good Julius descriptor.

Those efforts include having to move mountains to unload Deng, which all know is close to impossible without having to give up a lot of assets.

Screw next 4 years' picks to get this done as we aren't going to need them, and give them to the team that takes Deng and whichever of Moe or Zu we hold back to spite the Spurs for not taking the Randle S&T sooner.

Jackie Mac on ATH today, from the Boston perspective:

Reali: “Any chance the C Bags get in there for Kawhi?”

Jackie: “I don’t think so, Tony, and here’s the reason why. Kawhi is telling the Boston C Bags and everyone that wants to listen he will not stay there beyond the year, when his contract is up. I think the C Bags, if that weren’t true, would have offered something and he’d be in Boston right now. The fact that he’s not tells me that Kawhi (he’s) given the C Bags notice, ‘I won’t stay’.”

I love Kawhi Leonard already...telling the green bastards that there's no chance he'll stay...sticking to his guns...unlike Playoff p**** Paul George, who actually MENTIONED the fricking C Bags in his documentary! (nearly puked when I heard him say that)

I hope PG13 is just playing this all up to make it seem like it was SUCH a tough decision for him...

Oh man I haven't watched ATH, probably since 2010. Those were the days.
