https://www.nba.com/lakers/news/180608developing-lakers-young-core Great article by Trudell on our player development coach Miles Simon.
Might be some of the repeats from what I shared via twitter above but here is the entire interview for those like myself that like video:
Lolz. Mothertrucker was trying to hide it like a mug when talking about FA when the reporter asked , "Are you confident this roster will look different after FA"...Obviously part of the answer is no s*** lol.
Bringing Kurt Rambis back again... I mean I don't know what kind of big difference he made when he was with us under Phil or when he was with the Knicks these last few years. I don't hate this but just seems like a lateral move, not improving the coaching staff necessarily.
I wouldn’t even describe it as a “move.” It’s the Lakers and they found one of their guys a job. It’s only newsworthy to crazies like us that check a message board all day.
He wont be in a position to make decisions if he's a coach, so I see no problem there. If it's something in the FO, it's likely a lead scout role or something. No harm done. Regardless of Kurt's track record as a coach, he is a likable guy. It'd be nice to get him back.
What's this negativity about Rambis? he was an excellent defensive coach under Phil. PJ let him run the defense.
He took a clothesline for the team against the punk C Bags. That’s got to count for something. Throw him an assist Mag.
He isn't a good fit with the modern basketball world. He feels like a dinosaur. I love him but I think he isn't dynamic enough for today's NBA and how the game evolves...
Care to elaborate? Seems more like a polar opposite from afar. But then I never know how far the way you jump around the globe.
