Yeah I really don't see them pulling the trigger on a trade unless we really blow them away.

Between Ingram and Kuz I can't call which, if not both, will turn into a star but because Kawhi plays his position, and because I think Kuz has the attitude to lead, I keep Kuz rather than Ingram.

But above all else, I won't celebrate a trade until I know Kawhi is actually the same player he was two years ago.

Thank You! Been saying this all along

As much as I would love Kawhi on the Lakers, I believe that scenario is the least likely. It feels like a low probability scenario. It feels very similar to the PG situation last year. The Lakers have the luxury of waiting and aren’t going to bet the farm.

Personally, I just want LeBron and PG... we can then call it a day. Those two plus our young talent should be enough to make some noise.

Still talking about big packages. Says now Moe could be included. Repeats the Lakers would take on salary to get an extra pick to send out. That last part still rings false to me. He admits now at least that its the Spurs hoping for the big offer although he keeps talking about nonexistent pressure for the Lakers.

If you're torn between Ingram and Kuz, remember this: defense wins titles. Ingram plays defense. Kuz doesn't. I love both, but that's what it boils down to for me.

Putting aside personal bias and just evaluating the Spurs future looking outside-in.

The Duncan Era-then-transition-into-the Kawhi Era Plan is now gone. You can agree on that.

Kawhi is gone whether it be to the Lakers or elsewhere. Placing him in the West or East does not matter to you as you will not contend for years.

The team is old. Aldridge is 33 in a couple weeks, 3 years left on his contract, better to trade him now while you can and jumpstart the rebuild. Parker and Ginobli are fossils. Gasol is 38 in a few weeks, 2 years left on his deal. Green and Gay 31+. Even Mills is 30 this summer, 3 years left on his deal. No promising youth. In short, you are f****d and your long and winding road leads downhill.

There is zero incentive for Pop to continue. One year of this and Pop walks out on his contract. Just lost his wife, is a proud man doesn't want to end his career in his 70's trying to rebuild. He's done enough for the organization, write him a big, fat severance check or pay him his full contract anyways. Spurs ownership is up in the air with the divorce too. All bad for a man entering his 70's without his spouse. Pop needs to go down to Brazil, find himself a little hottie and live the goodlife.

They are in a state of denial obviously and need to loosen up the cowboy hats a bit and name this what it is. Rebuild time. They can't make that team into more than a fringe playoff team in the west and need to face a restart. Get promising youth, tank a couple years, get that #1 pick, draft Duncan #2 and wa-lah. No shame, their run was historic.

Hahahahaha, f*** off with this. Man that’s some comedy, the RC and Pop must be smoking some of Phil Jackson’s private reserve.

Timeline: Magic's 2 summer leverage ploy yesterday....

This morning we got SA (Woj), LA (Ramona), Bron (Windy) joining to rehash Kawhi talks.

Later in the day the Mavs pull back QO of McDermott creating more cap space

Then later in the day, the Boston Herald has a western exec leak that (asset heavy) Boston and SA have no legit deal in place and are far apart.

And now we got Ramona reporting on the Lakers "aggressively pursuing" Kawhi trade...

Possible 3 teamer with Dallas where they take on Deng, a S&t Jules and their future Dirk in Moe (and another German in Bonga) haha
SA gets Dallas's draft picks (outside of Luka) and future 1sts, Kuz and/or Hart so that they can rebuild
LA absorbs Pau (partially guaranteed 19/20 season) along with Kawhi

Next summer we dump Pau and have Kawhi, Bron, Zo, Bi to recruit another 20m type star into our space.

LOL! Woj still delivering the Spurs message.

“Because a deal for Leonard would likely clinch a free agent commitment from LeBron”

Sorry Spurs, not buying what you’re selling. LeBron is coming either way. How about this instead: a deal for Leonard would keep you from looking like fools for losing a top 3 player for zip, zilch, nada.

Wow getting into LaVar credibility territory keeping this crap up. Pelinka is a shark. My bet is it's Randle sign and trade, Zu, Moe and couple of 1st rounders. Not a lopsided trade at all. Better than what we gave Memphis for Pau which turned out great for Memphis after Pop stopped going out of his gourd.

I'm not convinced Kuz won't be able to play defense at a high level. It was just his rookie year. One of the things I keep hearing about Kuz is that his lens regarding his abilities, strengths and weaknesses, is very grounded. He knows he has to improve his defense and is focusing on it.

I'm much more convinced BI isn't going to be much of a vocal leader and I think Kuz will

first the pressure was on us, though we reportedly only called them once before. Now, we call them back and the narrative is that we're "racing" to get a deal done. :Pelinka Double Thumbs Up:
