if you take this seriously, even for Ox: then I don't know what to say.... but I can handle myself just fine.
Glad to see we are all one big happy Laker fam here. Now let’s return to the thread topic please: Paul George related posts. If you want to continue the heart to heart exchanges the site has a nice Conversation function you can use.
Honestly after reading all the reports on free agency, trades etc. I truly believe our best shot to be good for now and the future is signing PG and LeBron while figuring out how to resign Randle while keeping all our youth. Kuz, Ingram, Zo , Hart, Jules and even to an extent Zubac are barely scratching the surface of their potential. I say don't trade but sign free agents and move on from there.
As I said in another thread I'm still all in for team Kawhi, PG13 and Lebron until something definitive happens. If that doesn't work out then yes, I love PG, Lebron, resigned Randle and Lopez plus Ball, Hart, BI, and Kuz. That's plenty of firepower, versatility, veteran leadership and talent. We could challenge right away.
Anybody get the sense that the recent "George staying in OKC" rumors are being floated by the Spurs to drive up the depreciated value of Kawhi, as well as the number of destinations the Spurs can also send him to?
same feeling i've had for a year. he was much more committal to okc from day one than, say, dwight howard was to la. that one you could see coming a mile away. i think okc's FO will be legitimately surprised if he walks. in the nightmare scenario, we lose most of the assets we offered for george last summer without actually getting george.
No, not at all. I get the feeling PG thinks with a healthy Roberson and a bit of internal growth from Grant and Ferguson - they are a top 3 team in the west and consequently the NBA. It's hard to leave that unless the Lakers have Lebron signed, sealed and delivered.
so, on the off chance we get lebron and george stays, i could totally see deng for melo. hey, it's half the banana boat! lakers stay flexible for next year, okc shaves cash off the tax bill.
I don’t think LeBron wants to waste a year of his career like that. Also, old man Melo refuses to come off the bench, and that would unnecessarily stunt Ingram. Money-wise it would be a smart play for next offseason though. We won’t really have lost anything of note though, unless we lose Randle, but even him, if he’s signed for 20+ mil, we’d probably not match anyway. We got great draft picks for Moz and Russ, got another one from Cleveland, and saw just how useless JC would have been for us in the playoffs. So we’d be losing an overpriced Randle, and Nance Jr. I’ll take that for having had the shot at star players.
