Ok, here’s a question for everyone. Where would you set the bar level for success if Lebron comes to the Lakers? I’m saying after his 4 year contract is over, what would you want the team to have accomplished.

Personally I do believe Lebron is coming this summer. It pains me greatly to know I will have to root for him as a team member. Because my hate is strong, my bar is set at championship or bust. Anything less and it wasn’t worth it.

I do believe Bron will help this team in many ways if he doesn’t get injured. He has tons of baggage but a great basketball mind and skill set. So I’m not saying there won’t be considerable improvement in lots of teams stats. I’m just saying that if it doesn’t result in a chip it wasn’t worth rooting for this guy for me personally.

God I hope his contract wouldn't be 4 years...

But if that was the case I'd say success would be being in the Finals with a chance to win it in 2/4 of those years.

I figured if PG and Lebron come and we're able to retain Randle it's going to take at least a year to jell and figure it all out. If you're thinking its going to be a cake walk to the WCF, you're kidding yourself.

I don’t think it will be easy at all. I’m saying we need to win a championship in one of those 4 years.

The Lakers are a team on the rise when you consider their plethora of young talent and their cap flexibility this summer. The second you hand a 4 year MAX contract (or multiple contracts that end up being a 4 year span) to a 33 year old Lebron James, arguably the best player in the game right, it's automatically title or bust. If he doesn't win at least one title in the next 4 years, then it'll have been for nothing. Finals appearances won't cut it, even in the tough West.

One title and two Finals appearances. That'd be worth every penny of four years of Lebron.

I've been against Cousins anywhere near our young guys, but I'm starting to lean toward him and PG13 being a better fit than Bron and PG.

    Cousins, Randle, PG, Ingram, Ball

    That's a legit starting 5.

Okay, talk me off the Cousins ledge before I ruin our franchise.

Cousins is not guaranteed to ever be capable of playing at a high level ever again and is likely to take months of playing to recover if he ever does.

I’m not sure anything is worth it.

But.....a chip goes a long way towards changing my mind. If he shuts up and doesn’t act like a douche.

I don't know about the other additions, but both Nance and Clarkson were playing decent to good this season. Some even suggested Nance was better than Randle. How come they suddenly totally suck after having joined the guy known for making everyone better?

Nance and Clarkson are barely playing. I've heard from the talking heads before the games that Lue doesn't trust them because they haven't been around long enough.

Fair enough. But if his lack of trust is the real/main reason and they are capable of playing as good as before, Lue must be an idiot, right? Considering the rest of this team sans Bron od basically also garbage...

That is just illogical... How would they gain experience, confidence AND contribute if they don't get the time? It's not like they're both stiffs...

The thought of the Lakers being referred to as LeBron's supporting cast ..... hard to stomach for many fans and probably the young talent who has to listen to media dub them that going forward as long as he's here.
