I did the digging I didn't call Durant and Kawhi 3&D guys, but referred to a link that did. https://fadeawayworld.com/2017/11/13/top-10-best-3-and-d-players-in-the-nba/ I think Klay is a 3&D player though, moreso than PG. I believe I read that he takes more spot-up 3's than dribbles. And he’s an excellent defender. Thus another case study of a souped-up Trevor Ariza
I'm curious in how awful it'll be. Has there been a good remake from a 1980's film? Dirty Dancing. Nope. Ghostbusters. Nope. Footloose. Nope. Robocop. Nope. I swear if they remake The Goonies, The Princess Bride, Twins or Coming to America, I'm going to have to revolt. (Although I wouldn't object to a remake of Revenge of the Nerds. In the right hands, it could be hilarious)
There ya go. I actually agree on Klay in terms of what he does, but I believe he's capable of more. In 2015/2016 Klay's assist numbers dipped as Draymond Green handled the ball more and Steph stayed healthy. This year Klay's assist numbers are back up a tick because Steph has been hurt.
Klay is my favorite of all the free agents in 2019. If the Lakers strike out this summer and just re-sign Randle and just make moves with the intent on preserving 2019 cap space, it'd all be worth it IF they landed Klay in 2019. Ball + Klay + Ingram + Randle + Hart + Kuz + 2018 and 2019 picks in 2019/2020. It's not a version with Lebron + PG but it's exciting to me.
I don't quite get this narrative...if the Warriors keep winning...wouldn't Klay want to branch off on his own at some point? Or is he content having the career of Ginobili? Something tells me Klay might actually leave to create his own legacy...I don't get why he's such a "lock" to re-sign with the Warriors? Also can the warriors even afford to keep all these guys together? That tax bill gonna be expensive....
winning multiple title is a legacy n nobody ever looks at klay as ginobli, he is legit 2 way player n has the accolades to prove it....n i guess the mantra hes made to media on mulitple occasio ns of wanting to be in gsw for life isnt enough? their owners are tech billionaire giants, they can afford it n by then iggy/Livingston deal comes down too, its green next contract that could take them into new crazy tax territoy. they're lucky in sense that kd wasnt qualified for super max with them, that wouldve slowed gsw a bit
Relevant on Klay's FA: https://www.sbnation.com/2018/2/16/...nything-i-can-do-james-harden-thunder-rockets
He was so effing locked in on this series. It's too bad his team wasn't very good and LeBron had Kyrie. He averaged 28 points, 8.8 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.8 steals and played 43 minutes per game. He wasn't the most efficient guy, but his splits weren't awful either at 38.6/42.9/86.7. It's crazy looking at his numbers in the playoffs. That OKC team didn't pass the ball at all. It was all isolations and Westbrook chucking. Even then, in his 5 games before the "I give up" game he put up 28.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.8 block on 45.2/41.3/88.2 splits. That's still really good.
It begins. The comments are always gold on these, one person posted a supposed Snapchat conversation from one of the teachers at the school.
Bron and PG13 to the Lakers makes a lot of sense, except for them both playing the same position, along with Ingram. I guess Ingram to SG and Bron to PF. It can work (positions and salaries). Ingram gonna have to get a lot better on that 3 ball.
Once KD opts out this summer and gets paid handsomely, the team will owe Steph, Dray, Iggy, Livingston and KD around 120 to 125M in 2019-2020. The cap and luxury tax is projected to be 109M and 131M respectively. We're talking 5 players already has them near the tax threshold. Can they afford to give Klay the MAX - which would start at 32.4M - while also filling out the roster for that season. They are going to be ridiculously into tax territory. Yeah they will get cap relief in 2020 when Iggy/Livingston are off the books but then Dray is a FA and due a raise. Unless they are willing to be super deep into the tax for the foreseeable future, there is a good chance they may see it as too expensive to keep that Core 4 together.
The owner is on record saying he'll pay for it as long as they're dynastic. He'll give it a shot until they miss the Finals is my guess. Even with that luxury tax, that franchise is printing money right now.
Don't know about no Shabooyah, but I do know a couple things about Jerami Grant: He's apparently one of PG's closest friends on OKC. He just played for the minimum this year and is going to be an unrestricted free agent. He is projected to command MLE type money on the market (5.4M-8.6M). He was probably the Thunder's 4th best player behind Russ, PG and Adams. Oh...and he could cost OKC 45M if he decides to stay with his buddy, PG, in OKC. Here's the one thing I tell Paul when he has his meeting with LA. He already knows what it is...its home, its rich history, off the court opportunities, yada, yada, shabooyada... But check out what your precious Sam did with Oladipo....They signed him up to a contract that appeared to be a commitment to OKC and then at the first chance they got, they shipped him out for the likes of you, Paul. Lets say you re-up with OKC and decide that you really want to stay there....but suddenly they don't.
