Here's the catch... Denver and Minny have 35 losses and OKC has 34 and Minny & Denver play against each other one last time on the final day of the season, so one of them is going to go to 36 losses total. That means OKC has to go at least 1-2 in these last 3 games to miss the playoffs, cause if they don't, then Okc is in and either Denver or Minny are out.

Okc doesn't own the tiebreaker against any one of them so they have to go at least 1-2 and Denver & Minny can't lose any games before their final showdown on the last day of the season.

So yes, that means Minny has to win the game against us tomorrow. If we win that game, then Minny has to win the game vs the Nuggets. In that case, it would be a three way tie with all 3 teams having 36 losses and OKC would lose the tiebreaker and be out the playoffs. The only other way is if OKC goes 0-3.

So to recap: Minny and Denver can't lose more than once in their upcoming 3 games and OKC has to lose 2 games in their 3 upcoming games (@Houston, @Miami, vs Memphis).

Honestly, I hope we beat Minny and I don't care about OKC going to the playoffs or not.

At the end of the day, I don't think making the playoffs or exiting in the first round is going to be the decisive factor for George to decide.

But I can watch our game vs. Minny a bit more relaxed, knowing that even losing to them has a purpose. :Magic Brows:

No. Here it is folks, the real scenarios:

If you read the comments the only thing LFR isn't sure of is if UTA has to win another game or so because that is the only team OKC owns the tiebreaker with.

But other than that this is spot on!

This is complicated by the fact that Minny and Denver play each other. One of those teams will have to have swept their other two games.

Paul George, plus shut the eff up. You're going to rile up all these stupid OKC fans when you leave them this summer by opening your stupid mouth!

If PG13 stays with OKC after a first round exit (or worse, missing the playoffs), then I don't want this loser on our team anyway.

Also, I'm starting to actually think maybe we'll be better off just developing the young core....we can be the next Warriors and everybody in the league is already seeing that with how much we progressed this year.

    Lol at the overreaction.

He's been having some brutal stretch of awful games. They still need to win at least 2 of their remaining games. They're going to the playoffs.

Now is the time to say BS things in their crappiest time and pretend to show a united front. He's not in the position to bail out especially he's their worst starter since all star. Off his high horse for the time being. Watch him snub his teammates when his game gets going in the playoffs and others brick.

But if he does stay then good for him. Things must continue. Plan B it is. Not everything is lost.

    ---

But seriously. I've heard more compelling words of endorsement than just 'it's not championship or bust', 'I can see myself', and 'it's our first year together'. Those were factually correct but no shred whatsoever of anything decisive or conclusive. It doesn't even hint anything which is smart of him.

I say PC, I mean PG is just saying what he's supposed to say.

Recruit, lol. If you can’t get it done with Westbrook, Melo, and PG, no vet minimum recruiting aside from the likes of a flock of LeBron type lap dogs is putting you over the top.

I can see what PG means, all it takes is a few pieces for the bench and they're a good second unit. That totally changes their team. Right now their starters can hang with any other team's starting 5. Their bench is pretty anemic and gives up leads.

If they had a Tyreke Evans (vet min) or similar off the bench for 30 mins, Bellinelli or similar for 20 mins (vet min) and someone similar to Noah or Bogut (vet min) playing defense for the 10-16 mins that Adams sits. They're bench is totally different. Every year there are players like that and they go to the teams they think have a shot at winning.

We got someone better than Paul George, his name is Kuzma! Honestly I would love to have PG on our team but if he decides to stay with OKC than I say screw him! Let's roll with the youngins, go after Kawhi and re up Brook in the off season. The amazing thing about the NBA is that it's not always only about off season it's also about disgruntled stars that want out like Kawhi, possible Davis, possibly Booker etc. We can always swing a trade that's actually better than we thought originally. Paul George, LeBron, Boogie, was all dream scenarios with a hint of possibility.

If he doesn't love the challenge of coming to the Lakers and leading them back to glory, than he's not the right guy anyway. I love PG,
but if you like being 2nd fiddle on a aging team, good luck and have fun when the lakers run all over your sorry a** in a year or two.

LOL im sick of this "team up" generation.

This is a strange comment. The average age of championship teams is about 29 years. OKC isn’t old at all...

    Westbrook - 29
    Adams - 24
    Roberson - 26
    PG - 27
    Patterson - 29
    Grant - 24
    Abrines - 24

In 2 years they’ll still be in their prime window if they stick together And ready to compete. Felton, Melo and Brewer are 33 and 32. Apart from Melo they’re just vet mins and easily replaceable and Melo coming off the roster would be great for their cap.

If anything we need to be older, can’t compete with a bunch of kids. In a few years our best two players Zo and Ingram will still be 22 years old - that’s the age some prospects enter the league. Kuzma, Hart and Randle if we keep them will only be 24/25. There’s a reason everyone is hoping to sign some FAs to compete.

It's hilarious how everybody here is making so much out of interviews in the final week of the season with the POs around the corner. He can say what he wants and it won't matter.

He's coming and people thinking we don't need him, need a reality check. Half of our young core can't stay on the court. With him we would be in the mix right now. And if he joins us next season it's finally a big step towards relevancy again.

His team really can’t afford to keep him if Carmelo opts in.

Carmelo would be crazy not to

I think PG will be available. This is near his home town and he likes it here. Magic’s whole winking interview was about him, so we want him.

He’s saying the right things to avoid controversy, but business is business. It seems pretty unavoidable that he won’t be able to stay for financial reasons, so I like our chances.

But of all the choices that may be available, is he our best target? I don’t think he’s s 2 any longer, so we seem to be accumulating some potentially redundant talent.

That might mean someone is traded, and I’m not liking that idea at all either. I’m also not liking the idea of bench minutes for potential budding stars stunting their growth.

It’s good to have talent and options, but Maginca still have their work cut out for them and some tough decisions coming up.
