Ox: I'm with you and I'm not with you. I'm with you in that today's NBA is soft AF...from the refs tossing players out for nothing, to flagrant/hard fouls, to players resting hangnails and wanting to be buddy buddy with each other. This isn't the league we once knew and loved...its some watered down s*** with teams easily getting into the 130s a night rather than trying to break the triple digit mark and taking pride in holding the opposition to double digits like it was during yesteryear. Our guys are young and should be able to run and heal up all day, so toss them to the wolves and let them develop. That being said, I'm not with you in regards to contemplating shutting down the young'ns for the season. With most of our young core looking like boys instead of men, they need to bypass the pull-up regimen that they do in pop's driveway and really get to developing NBA bodies this summer. They need to hit the summer running instead of limping into it taking valuable time off recovering from lingering injuries they exacerbate or develop in these last 8 games. In large part we know what we have with BI, Kuz and Zo and now its time for those dudes to literally man up this summer and show some physical growth so that they don't keep rotating into and out of the lineup next season like they did this season. Seriously what are we even playing for now. We're mathematically out of the playoffs. With the Mavs win, the Lakers can lose out these last 8 games and still be tied with the Knicks, who would have to win out their final 6 games. At that point its a coin flip to see who takes the 9th over the 10th pick, but as of right now, LA can do no worse than sending Philly the 9th overall pick (unless the slim lottery odds fall out of our favor). We successfully avoided giving Boston the 4th or 5th pick and it would take at most a 4% chance for them to luck into the 2nd or 3rd pick from us. We successfully avoided giving Philly the 6th-8th picks and it would take at most a 1.7% for us to hand them the 1st overall pick. On the flip side, we would have to win out and the Clips/Nugs would have to lose out for us to get into the 13th-14th pick territory to send to Philly. Instead, lets just spare our young guys from further injury and aim for the more attainable 10-12 pick as the worst that we can send to Philly. We're too far ahead to send anything earlier than the 9th pick and we're too far behind to realistically send the 13th or 14th overall pick. No reason to risk it all and bust our a** to drop that pick just 2-3 more spots.
Lets just concede the remaining 8gms n call it a day n give the whole team early vacation since theres nothing to play for
If the Glove don't fit, your defense is s***! Magic hand-picked him, GP enDorsed him and now you got guys like Nash and Kidd going into the Hall. Zo needs to continue on this projection of good defense and making passes cool again and the sky's the limit. He obviously has to rework the shot IMHO, but if he stays as is, things are looking good for him. Now f*** dem weak a** pull-ups at pop's house and go hit them weights boy! Get that body right!
