Today in sports media: fat guy judges a pro basketball player's athleticism. But really this is obviously an ignorant opinion.
He's gotta become a better scorer... teams are just playing him for the pass Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
First game in a long, long time where after the first quarter Lonzo just seemed to totally disappear. If he did this a lot I would agree with the critics, but this is an anomaly. I expect him to come back a lot better next game. Just a bum night for him. He had 6 of his 8 assists in that first quarter and looked great, then didn't have much impact. He had as many turnovers as points. That won't work. Still clanking from the line as well. A little bit of a rookie wall? He's been playing a ton of minutes and maybe he's gassed with the lack of guard help.
4 shots is unacceptable. Love the kid, but you can’t allow a team to not have to respect you at all on offense.
4 shots might be acceptable if he's got double digit assists, a bunch of boards and a few steals and a block or two. But no, 4 shots going with 4 turnovers, and only two assists after the first quarter? Not acceptable. He dropped out of the game basically. Got his hands in the passing lanes a couple times to disrupt things, made a great dish to a cutting Kuzma, but that's a few plays out of three quarters. He just didn't have enough impact in the game.
Last five games: 37.4 MPG 2.4-10.4 FGA/FGM (.231) 1.0-5.6 3PA/3PM (.179) 0.4-1.4 FTA/FTM (.286 Hard to sugar coat this s***. Kid needs to put in some serious work this summer.
He can't get his hand fully rotated with his mechanics unless the moon and stars are aligned perfectly or whatever it is that makes his funky motion work. He gets his shot off plenty fast enough but we've all seen him brick gimmes. So, does Zo tear apart his technique and start from scratch with a shooting coach this summer or go on as is? If he had stayed as he did once he started nailing them I'd say fine, but now you got to question the fundamentals here.
Not happy with Ball overall...shows glimpses every now and then but overall just not feeling like he will ever be a dominant player in this league. He has a lot of ups and downs but there is no clear development curve to be seen overall after 70 games now. He isn't better today that he was in November. Ya, his shot has gone from unacceptable pure garbage to hot garbage but thats about it.
