Without PG Russ goes on a tear and they make the PO. With him back... im not so sure ;) Strange, i know but that's how i see it.

    Not at all strange.

Paul George is the only teammate that's keeping Russell Westbrook from completely dominating the ball and even with PG around, he's still able to sneak in 20+ FGA in a game on a regular basis.

Without PG though, they'd be an easy 1st round exit. Not with Melo and especially not with that shallow bench that they have.

As a testament, Brewer who was hardly fielded in by Luke is now their starting SG or maybe Luke just sucks at evaluating his players. Either way, it's indicative of how bad OKC's bench is.

I would look at Brandon Jennings too, and possibly Lopez on a reasonable deal. I don’t see room for two new stars unless we are trading away some talent. If I had to choose 1, it’s George.

He’s trying to fill Roberson’s role with defense his primary responsibility. It should help them tremendously.

It was more important for us to see what Hart has than to give Brewer minutes, even if Brewer was playing well.

Good for Brewer that he's already so important over there. Not good for OKC that he's already so important there because Brewer is honestly not very good.

If you're telling me they've traded for PG to fill in the role of Dre in his absence... Wait, what?

If it wasn't for Russ willing that team to victories against lowly competition, OKC would be in one helluva predicament right now.

Combine that with a gimpy PG and Khal Adams and it goes without saying, they're not a legit contender. George has to know that, right?

Well.... NO the argument goes. Westbrook is still better than anyone we have on the Lakers. Amirite?

Of course he does, but he can't say that out loud right now. I pray that George and Randle sharing an agent will help with that Chris Paul type s&t scenario that we've been talking about. It's in the agent's best interest to try that route.

I would love nothing more than for them to just barely miss the playoffs. These other teams need to step up and make it happen. Westbrook, Melo, and PG, no playoffs, maybe would be the biggest regular season disappointment ever.

I mean... that's still objectively true. That doesn't have much bearing on where they're at right now though as it seems that team has zero chemistry and no depth.

I'm going to the FA thread to talk these options over. That recent Randle salary projection is making my mind wander. This summer could be special...

Yes of course.... than any single Laker at present. But also of course the Lakers have depth in special young talent going forward for years. And we have been there done that.

Discussed the differences in those two ways of looking at OKC vs the Lakers for PG.

Gotcha. Yeah I mean the way they're playing now it's hard to argue we don't look more fun, but the Thunder are still the 7th best team in the NBA record wise and on their way to 50 wins. Hopefully we've got enough to get Paul George without needing a second max this summer. We'll see.

wow, this is something where we need to take a picture of this, print it out on a big cardboard picture, and mail it to PG.

They successfully found their new Roberson and Brew actually is better offensively too. So hopefully this is an aberration, otherwise this f***ing sucks. cLips will continue to cLip.

And I think, I'm slowly falling into my sunken place.
Brew, you were supposed to go there for recruitment...that's it! f***!
