...one of his cohorts reads comments on this site and reports to him to chill or George will bolt to us?
PG was complaining about not getting calls from the refs last night, saying he, Russ, and Melo are officiated differently. I don’t think that’s true, but if you come to the Lakers, better be used to that, because here it is true.
I'm not going to respond to that post because I value being a member here, and I have no idea how to reply to all that head and cocking language.
Thunder just beat the Mavs by 1 in OT, damn. Still, they are struggling against teams they should not be.
6-7 in their last 13 games with a buzzer beater to beat Sac, OT to beat the Mavs and needing to go down to the wire to beat Orlando. They have the 2nd toughest remaining schedule in the West, behind only the Spurs (who are expecting Kawhi back soon). Its a cluster f*** from 3rd-9th in the West...but nothing about this team feels like a legit title contender to me (even with "you wanna win, you gotta put Brewski in"). And after they fizzle out, they're looking at bringing it back for 300M. Yeah, sure.
I hope he is paying attention to the fastest team in the league with the most young talent. Paul, you know what needs to be done.
Its only too early, cause 13 is retired and we don't know what number he'll pick. But he's coming...I'm pretty confident about it.
Okay so George has a point in that OKC is getting d***ed over in bad calls. But here's the larger question...why is OKC in so many close games (score within 3 in last 2 minutes) when they're supposedly one of the elite teams in the West? Also notice that we've had only bad non-calls which indicates the refs are swallowing their whistles for our bunch of young'ns and some of those close games could have gone in our favor making us that much more of a threat for the 8th seed and the playoffs. Hopefully we get that respect soon. Meanwhile Silver and the officiating crew are conspiring to hand deliver another top talent to Gilbert via the BK pick once LeDeuces happens.
Huge comeback win @Spurs to give us a 4-0 road trip, 5 wins in a row, OKC loses to POR and almost lost @PHX on Friday. OKC is now 7th in the West Today was a great day!
Gilbert has been spending hefty luxury taxes for years now, but this type of cap navigation just shows you owners of small market teams aren't just willing to throw money around. And this is Gilbert who has the best player in the game and probably has one last hurrah to add a title this season before he dips. Compare that to notorious cheap spending Clay and that OKC ownership group....and fans still think money won't matter. Of course it will! They'll be looking at anywhere from to 250M-350M if they decide to max out George and/or Melo and keep that team in tact. Again, I'm hoping George is no dope, cause once pen hits paper, I'm sure Presti will be given the green light to shuffle around the potential tax hit and then that will leave George with a team that is vastly different than the one he intended to re-up with.
Seems to me some have this backwards. PG should be priority #1. Do whatever you have to plus sell him on the need to all work together with how Pelinka can work the salaries in order for the rest of the young talent in Randle, Kuzma, Hart and Zubac (if possible). When he's locked you can say do you want in LBJ or not, and we have to make this salary work. (The guy and his posse have much incentive to come to L.A. next year with all their fine new expensive homes they want to live in away from the frigid Great Lakes effect air.) And explain to him about the realities of our roster needs that we should keep if he wants to compete right away for a ring. Cheap, talented depth with fresh young legs. And if he doesn't like the deal and goes to Houston or Philly or ???? .... oh well. Sorry about you having to only live in the new $20M house in Brentwood in off seasons instead.
