Is it just me or are numbers really inflated in the NBA in the past 4-5 years?

Westbrook averaging a triple double? In the 90s, he's a Kevin Johnson imo.

Same with Harden. Who's a Harden type player from the 80s-90s? Can't think of one. Probably cause they're weren't any manufactured flopping b***** mvps back then. Maybe Manu is a good comp. prime manu playing today would be putting up Harden numbers if he got the ref love.

Lebrons a phenom in any era, but imo his numbers drop quite a bit in decades past.

I'm imagining Larry bird jacking 8-10 3s/game like Harden and Steph do in today's NBA. Larry averaged 2 3s per game. Dude woulda averaged 40pts a game today

20,000 points used to be considered automatic HOF’er I think. I don’t think it means as much any longer. Be interesting to break down the reasons behind it on a deeper level, but we’d have to call in an expert like @therealdeal

But we’d just have to stick to numbers and ask him not to evaluate the talent

You’re right. He’d be dealing with LLLLL, doing math, and evaluating talent all in one. What was I thinking?!?!?!

You know who would kill it though is @trodgers

It's pace, more ball movement/less ISO, tons of 3s from every position, rules changes to protect shooters and scorers, rare calling of fundamental rules violations like traveling and palming the ball, and the systematic rewarding of offensive flopping and throwing oneself into defenders to draw fouls.

I’m going to need to see your equations sir. Just saying it doesn’t make it true.

Nick likes to post his LLLLL stats, but only the ones that skew his greatness. Ok, so he has the most "balanced" stats of all time that you hand pick, so therefore he's the greatest?

    30k/8k/8k

Let's look at Kareem shall we?

    38.3k/17.4k/5.6k

    How about blocks?

    LLLLL: 874
Kareem: 3189 (And they weren't tracked his first 4 seasons)

For his position he's an all time great if not the greatest at his position. And for a leading scorer, he has more assists than others that have reached those levels.

But none of this means he's the G.O.A.T.
He's in the discussion of the best ever, but you can't cherry pick the stats to prove your point. You can't gloss over the Finals losses and not showing up. You can't gloss over his teammates taking the shots that counted the most. He'll never be the greatest to most knowledgeable fans (See what I did there lol), but he's an all time great performing, stat stuffing, iron man type of athlete we will rarely get to see in our lifetimes.

Now if he weren't such a douche bag ahole narcissist, he'd have more supporters. As it stands, 60% of Laker fans don't want him here next year. AND HE'S STILL PLAYING AT A HOF LEVEL.

That should tell you all you need to know. (www.ihatelebron.com)

LLLLL admits to having an unsavory character

Pairing chronic rule breakers like he and Magic together is probably a recipe for disaster.

I can only imagine the fines!

Hate the beard. Getting into Haren territory. Lawd please let it just be PG.

    :Woozyshaq:

I know I know it could be Justin Turner's red hair and mountain man beard on him who cares. Actually that would be a better look.

Now let me tell you how all of you are wrong:

Nah just kidding. All numbers are 100% inflated. PACE is through the roof, go look at the numbers. Team points on average are over 106 points per game which is the most since the 90/91 season and it's only going to go up from there.

Didn't want to derail the Julius thread, but

4th in points per game, 17th in rebounds per game, 2nd in assists per game, 18th in steals per game, 4th in PER, 13th in TS%, 5th in Win Shares, 2nd in Box Plus/Minus, 2nd in VORP, 12th in FG%, 2nd in total points, 13th in total steals, 14th in total rebounds (only Centers and Westbrook ahead of him), 2nd in total assists, 1st in made FGs.

That is the best corpse in the league.

Real, I'm as dumbfounded as you are.

He's getting older, but he's still producing.

Meanwhile, he's never been a C bag. He's never gotten in Kobe's way as much as Nike wanted him to. In fact he's never endangered any of our title runs.

So why so much hate on Brony if he hasn't done anything anti-Laker....ever!

Granted, this is coming from a dude that wanted Rondo here, so I guess my tolerance is a bit more than the average Lakers fan...but still the Bron hate is weird...to put it mildly.

Not to mention, we're talking about Luke being replaced by Fitzdale. I wouldn't like it cause I think Luke has been excellent, but if it locks in our boy, than Fitz is actually a pretty good get regardless.

Its not like LaBron is forcing the most winningest coach in sports to take a hike...right Zen.

I don't like LeBron if I'm honest, but I don't hate him anymore and I want to win so for me it's an easy yes. I want to win and I want to win asap. Give me the best chance to do so!

How many all time players had so much ego they almost got cut from Team USA because of it?

How many of them were as fake as he was from the get go.

What up with exciting new-look Cavs the media were so pumped about, saying our trade made the chances of LBJ wanting to come to LA less?

They're 2-3 since the trades, only beating Brooklyn and Memphis, 2 of the absolute worst teams who've combined to lose their last 18 games.

Never mind that we are 4-0 since the trades. 3 of them roadies and 2 of those blowouts. But hey, making the Eastern Conference finals is a big deal.

Name another NBA player that would try to tell you accidentally not getting a turnover that would happen 9/10 times was on purpose and "in his bag"? He's looking for his highlight on Twitter so he can retweet it with comments about himself.

Dude can't help himself. He's an arrogant, narcissistic douche, that can really play the game of basketball well. I don't want him on this team. I'd rather be the team that beats him in the Finals a few more times.

Yes, he once again quotes his stats, and then gives us his "motivational" crap and has now added the hash tag of "Long Live the King" LLTK along with a crown :hurl:

f*** you LLLLLebron James. Stay in the East so we can dismantle your p**** a**
