Peter Vescey is the dirt under your fingernails. His voice alone makes one want to put an ice pick through their ears. I wouldn't trust Vescey if he told me the world was round. That guy is and always will be a slime ball douche bag.
I know, right? Not since the NBA on NBC. (cue John Tesh theme) I'm not looking at this rumor as false because it's not the story I want to hear. Vescey was one of those guys that never got anything right. I was in junior high/high school when he was in his "prime" and even back then I recognized he was a charlatan. Add to that the fact that he and Magic have a serious beef, how can you take the guy seriously on anything he says?

interesting take. to carry the (stupid) metaphor out, one would have to say we danced on a table, so they (sadly and desperately) copied our dance. where's that unimpressed squirrel? in fairness, if the lakers strike out in FA again, kupchak doesn't look dumb. he knew those contracts weren't great, but they were a symbolic throwing of the towel at the cap space plan. if the lakers continue to not get FAs, he looks prescient, not stupid. particularly after we gave up assets to get the space back...
