The salary cap isn't set yet, but it's not expected to change much from the 101 figure. If we make no other moves besides dropping our Bird Rights to all non-guaranteed contracts (Randle, Ennis, Bryant, Zubac, KCP, Brook, Thomas, Frye, and Brewer), we'd have 39.3 million dollars under contract. That leaves 61.7 million. If we waive Deng, his contract turns in 7.4 million over the next 5 years and clears our available salary to about 72.7 million which would be more than enough for two max deals (we need 66 million), but would leave only 6 million to fill out the rest of the roster. Our best bet is to trade Deng away attached to our new pick (which by the way is worth roughly 1.5 million right now) along with other picks if need be. If we shed Deng's entire salary, we'd have 67.2 million dollars to spend while maintaining Julius's Bird Rights. We could sign two max deals, re-sign Julius, and then use the room exception and veteran minimums to fill out the roster.
I guess it's fair game for anyone other than a Lakers president to tamper. Seriously what a bunch a crap that $50,000 fine.
“Yeah...he’s should have a few offensive fouls a game...” No. They’re stupid and he needs to stop. It’s low IQ and like tonight, was during a crucial stretch. It’s not funny.
Alright Julius, you got some impressive numbers. Great. But please try to see what's happening around you before you become a black hole and start fumbling the ball in the pain like that. Thanks.
Where the does the line get drawn for Pop, Thibs, Ron Jeremey, etc when they are both coach and pres?
Pretty much. I suspect someone (Indiana?) reported it and the NBA was obligated to comply by the rules even if it was a technicality.
So uh, somebody was covering for Randle/making him look good that is gone now or something. That 2 man game with JC is gone, and he’s apparently taken a huge sigh of relief with his effort on d and the boards since not being traded, perhaps foolishly not realizing he’s still playing for a contract. But hey, if he wants to play like a selfish, lazy moron, drive his contract down to a JC type deal, great. Thanks @sirronstuff , some of your best work.
Randle's offense has really come along. You can now kind of count on him scoring 15-20 points and do it efficiently every single night. His rebounding has never been the same since his rookie season. He has 13 double doubles this season. Thats pretty awful for him, even when he came off the bench. He needs to up that effort on the glass and on D.
His confidence and patience in the post is growing. I liked seeing him up against Davis in the post with poise sans any panic either. Took his time with pump fakes til he got a good shot off. Definitely growing his post game.
My biggestbgripe with him is he hardly ever puts his hands up on D until later in the gm when they try to come back. Hes just so lazy on D most of the time
I see he’s showing off to the main team likely to give him a max offer to steal him away this offseason. Just a triple double though, so I’m not sure he made an impression.
